Dog Safety Concerns
My experience at this restaurant was concerning due to their apparent disregard for the safety of dogs. Owners should be aware that aggressive dogs will be allowed in and are permitted to be off-leash.

Aggressive Dog Attack and Poor Handling
I’ve been taking my dog to this dog yard for about two years. On 12/13/2025, we attended a Shiba Inu meetup. Previously, we had no issues at these meetups. However, this time, after about an hour in the dog yard, my dog was bit on her anus by a dog that had just arrived. I witnessed the couple checking in with their Shiba on a leash, and it lunged at my dog and another person's dog. Both dogs distanced themselves from this aggressive dog. After checking in, the couple immediately let their dog off-leash, and within seconds, it snuck up on my dog and bit her. My dog screamed and hid, rather than engaging. I saw she was bleeding and asked for a wet wipe to disinfect and examine the injury. A worker gave me a wet towel and walked away. Blood also got on a couch cushion. Realizing the extent of her injury, we immediately left for the emergency vet, where she was seen within 30 minutes. My dog required sedation, sutures, pain medication, and antibiotics. Throughout this ordeal, I called the dog yard, and the person on the line was kind and helpful in forwarding my information to the aggressive dog's owners. However, several days later, the dog yard has been ignoring my emails requesting more information and has been passive-aggressive over the phone. This place is no safer than a public off-leash park. They refuse to provide the contact information of the owners. I am out $960, and the responsible parties have not contacted me. I have received no information on whether they will be banned from the park. I believed this would be a safe space, and that having a middleman would help in cases of injury, but this has not been my experience. They have not assisted in gathering evidence and allowed an aggressive dog that displayed harmful behavior in front of the employee checking them in. Dog bites are mandatory to report in Seattle, so I will be seeking help from animal control and SPD.

Disappointing Dog-Friendly Experience
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing, primarily due to the lack of attention to problem dogs. I paid a premium to bring my dog here, expecting a pleasant environment, but instead, my dog was incessantly yapped at and followed by a very loud, shrieking dog for over 40 minutes. Neither the dog's owner nor the bar staff intervened. Later, another large dog barked aggressively at me and my dog. The staff seemed inattentive, focused on their phones and preparing to leave before closing time, which felt like a rip-off for someone arriving in the last hour. The biggest turn-off was the lack of attention to problem dogs; don't expect care if a dog is causing issues for your pet.

Great Space, Poor Front-Desk Service
I really like this dog bar; it’s one of my favorite places to bring my dog, and the space itself is great. Today, however, I walked 30 minutes only to find out there was a meetup for a specific type of dog. The website was incorrect and had posted “Saturday, November 27th” as being open to everyone, which is confusing as that date isn’t a Saturday. I mentioned this to the front-desk staff so they’d know it was incorrect. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, the staff member was short, dismissive, muttered under his breath, let us know we couldn't come in, and gave attitude. This isn’t a one-off interaction; it’s the same person each time, and I’ve seen him speak the same way to other customers. It makes the entry experience unnecessarily unpleasant, which is disappointing because the rest of the place is great. He's great with the dogs, but humans – not so much. I genuinely want to keep coming here, and I hope the front-desk service improves. Even a simple apology or a friendly tone would go a long way.

Great Venue for Paint-n-Sip
I ended up at Dog Yard for a Paint-n-Sip event and was really impressed with the venue. There were a variety of comfy seating areas and a good variety of drink and snack options. I will definitely come back with the dog.

Disappointing Change in Ownership and Park Size
We used to love this place when it was under different ownership, but now it feels unfriendly. We’ve been going here since it opened day one and then went once after ownership changed and the park shrunk in size. We have two senior dogs: a 10 year old Shepard and a 17 year old shih tzu. Before the park changed, it was a great place for play and the staff was very informed on the different types of dogs and personalities of those types of dogs. In our one and only visit under the new ownership and shrunken park, we left disappointed. We were told our Shepard was “a lot” and “needed to calm down” IT’S A DOG PARK! Our 10 year old Shepard has been going to dog parks since she was spayed at 3 months old, almost everyday. We’ve never had this issue ever. She’s my partner’s ESA and is a sweet, loving dog. No aggression at any point in her life. She loves all people and animals. I don’t think I’ve met a nicer living being on this planet. And for context, I worked with dogs and zoo animals (canines, bears, hawks, marine mammals) for over 10 years. The dog yard now only feels welcoming of small dogs which is a consistent problem for many big dog owners in the city, whether that be dog parks or otherwise. This was one of the few places where my dogs could play and my partner and I could relax. Our big dog, Luna, had all her birthday parties there. But I don’t see us going back any time soon. Not unless there are some accessible changes. (Picture of her at OG Dog Yard on her birthday)

Hidden Gem for a Relaxing Drink
We stumbled upon this place while out of town and were looking for something to drink. It turned out to be a hidden gem that truly made our day. Although we didn't have a dog with us, it was lovely to sit outside on a nice day and enjoy a beer while watching the dogs play. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was excellent.

Great Concept, Service Issues
My experience at this restaurant had a great concept and featured friendly people and dogs. However, the bartender was quite pushy, attempting to pressure or shame me into buying items, despite a very limited selection. There was also an expectation that everyone in the party order something.

Unpleasant Dog Encounters and Unwelcoming Atmosphere
During our two visits, we encountered dog owners who were not attentive to their pets. We witnessed aggressive behavior and mounting towards our dog. While we understand that dogs can be dogs, the lack of intervention from owners and staff was disappointing. When we attempted to separate our dog from another that was biting it, we were aggressively confronted by the other owners. This made us feel uncomfortable, and we decided to leave. It appears there's a group of regulars, and it doesn't feel very welcoming to newcomers. We hope these issues can be resolved soon.
