Worth the Wait for Amazing Brunch!
My family and I drove to Cracked and Battered from South Bay this last Sunday for brunch. We arrived around 1: 00 pm and the place was packed with multiple parties waiting outside. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, but let me tell you, it was so worth the wait.
The food was AMAZING! Even my picky 8-year-old daughter loved her chicken and waffle and asked if we can be back every Sunday 😄. Hubby and I both got the C&B plates, and everything on that plate was delicious 🤤.
Can’t wait to be back!

Disappointing Wait and Atmosphere
My experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. The waiting system seemed broken, as several customers who arrived after me were seated before me. The space itself felt very cramped and overcrowded.
Additionally, the outdoor dining area had an unpleasant smell due to nearby trash carts. The service was rated a 1, and the atmosphere was also rated a 1, reflecting these issues.

Average Food, Poor Cleanliness
I was really surprised this place has so many 5* reviews. My experience was that the food was average. We ordered a shakshuka, eggs Benedict, pancakes, and fresh carrot-orange juice.
The shakshuka had eggs that were fried and placed on top of a tomato sauce, which is not how shakshuka is traditionally prepared (eggs should be cooked in the sauce). The eggs Benedict and pancakes were fine, but not the best I've had. The so-called "fresh" juice appeared to be mixed from juice that had been in the fridge.
Additionally, the seats were visibly dirty, and the bathroom lacked paper towels or a hand dryer. I definitely won’t eat there again.

Good Take-out with Some Hits and Misses
I got take-out for dinner on my night shift. Even cold, the Memphis breakfast burrito was super good! I didn't love how the cheese was just in a hunk on the side, but that's probably not an issue if you eat it fresh.
The fried chicken tasted real good, and the egg was well-seasoned. I do wish there were vegetables, but I guess that's what the potato covers. The fries were pretty bland, but the portion was huge for a cheap price, so I was pleased.
I did not enjoy the sauce the burrito came with, as it had too much pepper for me.

Mixed Feelings: Great Chicken, Bad Nasi Goreng
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The chicken was great, a definite highlight. However, the nasi goreng was pretty bad.
My advice is to avoid the nasi goreng, and you'll likely have an okay experience overall.

Delicious Brunch with Great Vibes
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I loved the vibes and the service. It's great to know they are halal, and the sweet Turkish owner adds a personal touch.
The decoration reminded me of a cute home, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. We tried Fatima's Shakshouka (7/10), which was a sour and sweet tomato dish with eggs and pita – perfect for tomato lovers. The Fried Chicken Sandwich (8/10) was excellent, featuring a crunchy chicken, good slaw, and nice fries.
The standout was the CB breakfast (9/10) with a large, perfectly spicy, and crunchy chicken piece. The waffles were incredibly soft, and the salty butter with sweet sugar melted in my mouth. The eggs and potatoes were decent.

Delicious Breakfast Spot in San Francisco
This is a super nice and pleasant place for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The prices are quite reasonable, and the portions are very large.
We had breakfast here for 3 days in a row during our trip because we liked it so much. Definitely order the chicken and waffles; they are delicious! I will certainly go back to the restaurant when I return to San Francisco.

Delicious Fried Chicken & Waffles!
My experience was fantastic! I had the Fried Chicken and Waffles, which were so good. I also enjoyed the fresh orange juice.
I highly recommend not missing this place! The food was quick, and despite the place being packed, the service was efficient. Ordering was easy via the app or QR code on the table.
While the inside was a bit cramped, which is common for breakfast diners, it was worth the trip.
