As someone who is very picky with Mexican food, due to my mom's cooking, I have to say this place serves authentic Mexican food with high quality ingredients. This is hard to find. Do not look further; Crack Taco Shop is the spot. I had their Tacos and was amazed. The birria Taco specifically was mouth-watering. I look forward to trying more of their menu. Recommended 1000%.

This is the easiest 5-star rating I’ve given in awhile. The Service was A+, the Menu was A+, the Food was A+, and the Ambiance was A+. It's good to know that they use NO seed oils and everything is fried in Beef Tallow, which is an A++++++++++++. They have done everything right. We sampled about 9000 calories worth of food and every bite was amazing. Everything tasted really clean and fresh. The Surf and Turf burrito was absolutely amazing, don’t miss out on this one. The Crack Nachos, fish taco, and pollo asado were all divine. We lucked out and got to meet one of the owners who was working tonight; he's a really nice guy, and you can tell how much he cares about the product he puts out. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu and being a regular here!

My experience at Crack Taco Shop was fantastic! I was hungry and the team there took great care of me. It's the best food to get at any time of day. I've already been back a few times since it opened. Joe at the front of house always has such an amazing attitude, and this team really cares about the quality of product they put out. Each bite explodes with flavor. I highly recommend the Crackafornia Burrito (Cali B with WORLD FAMOUS Cardiff Crack) with some churros on the side! It's a 10/10 would recommend. Go support this amazing locally owned taco shop!

My experience at the restaurant was fantastic, especially with the Crack Nachos. They are an excellent choice for sharing or enjoying on your own. They are delicious and satisfying, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The food was rated a 5, and the atmosphere was also a perfect 5. Service was also excellent with a rating of 5, and there was no wait time.

I ordered the regular tri tip burrito to go. It was hot, so I didn't open it until I got home, which is a half-hour away. Unfortunately, it was NOT what I ordered. I'm so disappointed because I'm not a breakfast burrito person, and that's what I received even though I specifically ordered the regular tri tip burrito. Make sure to check your order before you leave!

I've been coming here for a couple of years and generally enjoy it. Last night, while ordering, I learned that their potato tacos are made with beef tallow. An employee did inform me about a nopales taco as a plant-based option not cooked in meat, which I appreciated for their transparency. However, I'm unsure if all employees would offer this information, especially for those with sensitivities or religious restrictions who might not think to ask. My usual choice is the fish taco, and I find the food to be good. The tortillas are very fresh, and it's a plus that they are open late. The service is quick, and both the food and the restaurant itself are clean. They are no longer offering the taco Tuesday plate deal. I still recommend this place because of the quality. However, if you have allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions, it's essential to ask about your food.

I enjoyed my experience at The Crack Taco Shop, finding the food to be very good and enjoyable. The restaurant offers a spacious interior, suitable for both solo diners and employees on lunch breaks. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and warm. While the food was good, I felt that for the price, a little more material and flavor could have been added to the tacos. This suggestion is not factored into my rating, but there was a minor hiccup with the order delivery, which I believe was an anomaly. The roasted potato taco was an excellent vegetarian option.

I genuinely want to love Crack Tacos because the food is excellent — truly some of the best in the area. However, after last night, this was the third time something was missing from my to-go order. Each time, I’ve had to drive all the way back, and this time it was in the rain. They also couldn’t credit my card over the phone, which made it even more frustrating. What makes it worse is that I always tip 10–15% for takeout, and I regularly spend between $60 and $120 on my orders. For that level of spending, the very least I expect is for my order to be correct. Instead, I keep running into basic, avoidable mistakes. The woman at the counter gave me a free taco, but the gesture felt disingenuous — more like she wanted to move on than actually take responsibility. This happened while I was the ONLY customer in the entire establishment, with no other distractions, no rush, and no other orders. If they can’t get one simple order right under those conditions, I can only imagine how bad the quality control is when they’re busy. Honestly, in a city like San Diego where high-quality Mexican food is everywhere, there’s no reason to keep supporting a business — even one with great food — that repeatedly fails at something as simple as making sure what you paid for is in the bag. There are plenty of excellent taco spots nearby that get it right and actually care about their customers. I genuinely love their food, but I’m done with this place. The repeated failures with to-go orders, especially when I’m the only customer present, are inexcusable. At that point, it’s clear they just don’t care about doing a good job.

My experience at Crack Taco was always great, especially with their to-go orders. The team is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is consistently delicious. I also appreciate their rewards program for discounts. It's a go-to spot for quick burritos. Lately, I've been enjoying the bacon breakfast burrito, but the fish and tri-tip are also excellent choices. The crispy potatoes, generous amount of cheese, and the quality of bacon make for a classic breakfast burrito, perfectly topped off with their delicious salsa. Thanks, Crack Taco Team! My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! I really enjoyed the grilled fish taco, and their homemade tortillas are the best. I also want to give kudos for the guac and pico. The food was excellent, and the service was great, with no wait time. The atmosphere was also very pleasant.
