Amazing Chilaquiles, Huge Portions!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially for their chilaquiles 🔥. I tried the verdes sauce, which I don't usually go for, but it was incredibly flavorful. The chips were perfectly crispy, and the refried beans underneath were perfection. My only minor complaint is that the portions were HUGE, so much so that I couldn't finish everything. Overall, a 10/10 experience, and I would definitely come back.

Amazing Food and Drinks, Worth a Return Visit
Our experience at this restaurant was so good that we returned the same day for dinner! We started with a late, small lunch of tacos, enjoyed happy hour margaritas, and had some delicious ceviche. Our waiter was incredibly nice and enthusiastic. For dinner, we came back and particularly enjoyed the mezcal cocktails. The menu is quite unique with lots of intrigue, and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

A Delicious Work of Art!
My experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. Every cocktail, appetizer, entree, and dessert was a delicious work of art. The menu is unique, and the dishes are deserving of Michelin stars, with the chef meriting a James Beard award. I particularly enjoyed the Mezcal de Granada, which was creative and refreshing. The flounder was amazing, as were the corn cake and the homemade Mexican chocolate ice cream. My family was surprised and thoroughly impressed!

Excellent Food and Drinks in SD
My experience at this restaurant in San Diego was fantastic. The cucumber margarita and ceviche were great. The tacos were elevated, and the salsa rojo was also great. I highly recommend this place.

Great People, Disappointing Food
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The people were great and everything, but the food was not worth it. I ordered the aguachile de mango habanero, but the sauce was not good. Then, the chilaquiles were too salty and the sauce wasn't good either. While the service and atmosphere were excellent (rated 5/5), the food quality was a major letdown (rated 1/5).

Authentic Flavors, Cold Beer Issue
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, with authentic flavor in the food. The service by Alberto was amazing, and he provided helpful information about the plates. My only recommendation is that the draft beers are not cold. But other than that, it was a 5-star experience.

Authenticity Questioned, Service Lacking
From my perspective, I don’t think that this food is authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the enmoladas. The “mole” was more of a distasteful red salsa. My husband, who eats basically anything, left a good amount of food behind. The waiter was unfriendly and seemed bothered. The star I leave is for the young lady who nicely greeted us and took us to our table. She deserves the star for her positive attitude and good vibes.

Delicious Tacos, But Pricey Chips & Salsa
I returned to Cocina De Barrio for lunch and ordered the Portobello tacos 🌮. They were delicious 😋 and very well seasoned. The black beans were good, and the rice was good but could have used a little more seasoning. I would definitely order these tacos again! The waiter was very nice. I also ordered chips and salsa; the salsa was extremely delicious and served with perfect, unsalted chips 👍🏼. However, I was surprised that this restaurant charges $10 dollars for chips and salsa 🤑, as it's usually a complimentary staple appetizer at Mexican restaurants. For dessert, I ordered Flan 🍮, which was really good 👍🏼 and served with fresh berries 🫐🍓. I recommend asking for no powdered sugar, as true Flan only has caramelized sauce. Americanizing dishes can detract from their cultural authenticity and presentation. Overall, my meal was very tasty and delicious 😋. I will return, though I may skip the chips and salsa and try a different dish.

Delicious Mexican Food, Must Reserve!
My experience at this restaurant was excellent. I've been here a few times and highly recommend making reservations in advance. What truly sets this place apart is that everything on the menu is delicious and fresh, which is a difficult feat for most Mexican restaurants. My personal favorite was the mole; it tasted remarkably similar to my mother's. I highly recommend eating here!
