Chungman Chicken Seattle: A Taste of Chicago!
I had a delicious experience at Chungman Chicken, which I first enjoyed in Chicago. I was so happy and pleased to find that Chungman Chicken has opened in Seattle. The taste was exactly the same as the Chungman Chicken I first discovered and ate in Chicago. The crispy yet cracker-like texture of the batter, unique to Chungman Chicken, and my favorite menu items, Spicy Garlic (Yangnyeom Chicken) and Snow Onion, tasted just as I remembered. It seems to have opened in the summer of 2025, and I've been eating there consistently every two months. As time has passed, the management has improved and gotten better, so now I am satisfied not only with the food but also with the service. I especially remember the pickled radish (chikinmu) because it was so delicious. If the pickled radish is good, I highly recommend asking for more!

Fantastic Food and Pleasant Atmosphere
Overall, I had a very good experience at the restaurant. The food was fantastic, as expected from the CM chain. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, with music that wasn't too loud. The servers were kind and attentive, which was a pleasant surprise compared to other reviews. The food also came out faster than we thought. I would come and try other menus more often if I lived closer.

Disappointing Closure Despite Open Hours
I drove all the way from the East Side to try this new Korean Fried Chicken spot, but unfortunately it was closed despite Google showing they were open. No staff were on site, and there was no sign or notice explaining the closure or adjusted hours. It was pretty disappointing, especially after waiting around for 10 minutes hoping someone might show up. I really hope they update their online hours or post a sign if they’re opening late. It would prevent situations like this. For now, I recommend calling ahead before making the trip.

Crispy Chicken, Saucy Delights, and a Few Hiccups
My experience at this restaurant featured some truly delicious chicken, with tenders boasting the same satisfyingly crispy breading as the wings. The spicy garlic sauce was a standout, reminiscent of classic Korean fried chicken sauces. While the snow onion sauce was decent, it had a distinct taste akin to macaroni salad dressing. Unfortunately, the mala seasoning missed the mark, tasting primarily of cumin. The fries were a major disappointment; they seemed stale and were largely inedible, suggesting they had been prepared well in advance. I also found the pricing for extra sauces to be quite high, adding $2-$3 per sauce. The atmosphere received a 4-star rating, primarily because the lights were a bit too bright.
