Phenomenal Indian Food & Ambiance
My experience at Castro Indian Restaurant & Bar was absolutely phenomenal! The food was incredible, bursting with authentic flavors and a creative twist that perfectly blended Indian and modern tastes. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
The ambience was warm, stylish, and lively, creating a perfect mix of cozy and trendy, ideal for both casual dinners and nights out. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The vibe was amazing – upbeat yet relaxed, with great music and a lovely bar setup.
For the quality of food, cocktails, and service, the prices were very reasonable. It was definitely one of the best dining experiences in San Francisco. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!
🙌 We finished everything, as you can see in my picture! Himanshu was a really nice and friendly person, contributing to the best experience!

Disappointing Service and Menu Changes
I used to order from Indian Castro 5x a week, but they suddenly removed Paneer Manchurian from their menu after 2+ years of me getting it daily. When I called to inquire about it, the person who picked up the phone laughed and hung up. I recommend Jalebi Street for better food and better hospitality!

Delicious Food & Inviting Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, with the butter chicken being one of the best I've ever had. The naan was perfectly soft, warm, and ideal for dipping.
I also enjoyed the friendly bar area, featuring a unique brewery machine that added a special touch to the place. The staff was welcoming, the service was great, and the overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. I highly recommend this spot in the Castro for anyone seeking flavorful food and a fun, comfortable dining experience.

My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I enjoyed the incredible chicken tikka and samosas. The service was very attentive, and I found the house beer to be solid.
I'm already looking forward to coming back.

Authentic Goat Curry Bliss!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially the authentic street style goat curry. I was advised to ask for it spicy for the best results, and it delivered sheer savory bliss. The staff's approving head nod was a nice touch.
I highly recommend this dish!

Excellent Indian Food & Service!
I absolutely love this place! It serves the best Indian food around and is REALLY good. I don't understand why it's not busier.
People don't realize it changed management a bit back, and the food and staff are now EXCELLENT. A great Castro meal.

Long Wait, Disappointing Flavors
My experience at the restaurant was marked by a long wait for the food. When it finally arrived, it was watered down and flavorless, leading to general disappointment.

Charming Ambience, Underwhelming Food
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The ambience was charming, enhanced by light background music. However, the food was unfortunately underwhelming.
While the paneer tikka masala was average, the dal makhani and naan were off-putting. Despite a large vegetarian selection, I would not recommend it for vegetarians.

Incredibly Good Indian Food!
My experience at this restaurant was incredibly good. We ordered the Saag Paneer, Veggie Tikka Masala, and Veggie Samosas, and every dish was outstanding. The vegetarian selection is large, and I highly recommend it for vegetarians.
We had dinner and experienced no wait time. The atmosphere and service were both rated a 5 out of 5, and the food also received a 5 out of 5. I can't wait to go again!
