Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Service
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's a true hidden gem. Mario and Stephanie made me feel like an old friend, their welcome was so warm. The service was amazing, and the food was incredibly fresh. Everything on the menu tasted great and was perfectly balanced. I especially loved the carpaccio, the bread and dip, and all the pastas. The panna cotta was absolutely amazing!

Amazing Food and Sweet Staff!
My experience at this restaurant was incredible! The food was amazing, and the staff were all so sweet. We ordered the calamari, puttanesca, and limoncello cake— I highly recommend everything. The pasta dish wasn’t too “big” so maybe order an appetizer! It’s a super homey place. I’ll be back!

Charming Old-School Italian Gem
After an extensive search through FiDi, Barbary Coast, and North Beach, we discovered Caffe Macaroni, a charming spot run by a husband and wife team for over 30 years. This is truly old-school, simple, and tiny – we even had to sit on the sidewalk! The menu is focused with a solid set of specials, and the food was spot on. We enjoyed a bright, juicy, and salty fennel orange salad, and a piece of sole over caponata was absolute perfection. The bread with a garlicky dip was generous. The service was warm and personable, and we were grateful they could provide a tangible menu instead of requiring us to use our phones. While the Prosecco could have been a touch colder for my taste, overall, this dinner surpassed our expectations and was thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing Cheesecake and Incredible Staff!
My experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. The cheesecake was the most amazing thing I have ever tasted, potentially ruining all other cheesecakes for me. The staff and chefs were incredible, not only in their service but also in their personality. It was one of the best meals I have ever had, and I'll never forget that first bite. My life is better for having experienced it.

Authentic Italian Gem in North Beach
My experience at this restaurant was outstanding, offering truly authentic old-school Italian cuisine in the North Beach district. I highly recommend making reservations as the inside seating is very limited. The staff, Stephanie and Mario, are wonderful people, and the food was incredibly delicious. I enjoyed the Caprese appetizer, a fantastic spaghetti & meatball plate, and a delicious lentil soup. The location is wonderfully convenient, right off Geary & Columbus.

Classic Italian Gem with a Personal Touch
My experience at this restaurant, one of the oldest Italian spots in SF, was quite memorable. Be prepared to be patient with seating, but there's a quaint upstairs area available for events. The original owners, Mario and Stephanie, are still involved, with Mario being the sole server. The food was excellent, the service was attentive despite Mario being the only one, and the atmosphere was charming.

Mixed Feelings on Mains and Desserts
I actually really enjoyed the main dish here, but there were just a couple of things that made me choose 3 stars instead of 4. The Ravioli was super tasty and rated 4 stars. The Table bread was also really good with its oil mixture, earning 4 stars. My friends enjoyed the Spaghetti, rating it 4 stars, though I found it hard to believe it’s better than Beretta’s on Valencia, but I’ll try it next time! The White sangria was a 2-star disappointment – I'd skip it. The Red sangria was pretty good at 3. 5 stars, and I’d try it again. However, the Tiramisu was a letdown at 2 stars, as it was frozen in the middle 😑. Even though I only gave this place 3 stars, I would go back and try more things; I think the mains will be worth it!

Authentic Italian with a San Francisco Soul
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional. The Southern Italian cuisine was top-notch, prepared with only the best ingredients. They masterfully stayed true to the original Italian flavors while infusing the atmosphere with the soul of San Francisco. I will definitely go out of my way to come here again.
