Bad Service, Okay Food
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to the terrible service. While the food was decent, not great, the staff's attitude significantly detracted from the meal. The server was unfriendly and seemed rushed, even when the restaurant wasn't busy.
She threw menus and food onto our table, which was unprofessional. I also felt there might have been racial bias, as she appeared more friendly towards other Chinese customers. To make matters worse, we were charged for tea we didn't order, and the tip was demanded at a minimum of 15% despite the poor experience.
I cannot recommend this place.

Fresh and Tasty BBQ Fried Rice
We visited this restaurant to try their bbq fried rice. Although it's called a dim sum cafe, many patrons seemed to be ordering a la carte dishes. The restaurant had a typical, unfussy appearance for the area and was quite busy.
Our bbq fried rice was fresh and tasty. It was a simple but satisfying meal that was also reasonably priced.

Terrible Dim Sum Experience
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing, particularly with the dim sum. I would avoid it at all costs, even considering its affordability. The shrimp dumpling was a letdown; it was undercooked and mealy inside, yet somehow overcooked on the outside.

Excellent Dim Sum, Great Value!
My experience at this dim sum restaurant was fantastic! The dumplings were freshly made and incredibly flavorful, and the other dishes we tried were also very tasty. We had dinner with a group of 8 people, and despite eating a lot, the bill was less than $30 per person, offering great value for the quality.
To top it off, they generously provided free desserts on the house! I highly recommend this place and will definitely return when visiting SF.

Favorite SF Restaurant with Delicious Favorites
My experience at this restaurant has been consistently positive, making it one of my favorite spots in San Francisco. I've visited twice, and while the first visit had few customers, the second time required a wait for a table, indicating its growing popularity. The buns, congee, and chicken feet are my absolute favorites and are highly recommended.
The place is large with many tables, making it kid-friendly and suitable for all group sizes. The atmosphere and service both received a perfect score of 5. Parking can be difficult to find, so taking Lyft is a good alternative.
The food is excellent, and the vegetarian options are highly recommended.

Disappointing Experience with Raw Food and Poor Conditions
My experience at this restaurant was overwhelmingly negative. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and smelled strongly of urine, which was particularly concerning as it lacked a door. The food was also a major disappointment.
While other reviews showed appealing siu mai, ours was unappetizing and, shockingly, raw inside despite being hot. The tofu beef was also slimy and appeared raw. To add to the issues, we were charged $1.
75 per person for tea without prior notification, and a $15 tip was automatically added to an $88 bill. The overall experience was awful, and I would not recommend this place, especially for those with a sensitive nose due to the strong bathroom odor.

Surprisingly Delicious Dim Sum Gem
Broadway Dim Sum Cafe truly surprised me in the best way possible. I was expecting an average experience based on some reviews, but this place absolutely slapped. The pork and veggie buns were incredibly fresh and fluffy, with that perfect steamy dough and a flavorful filling.
The chow fun was also delicious, featuring chewy, silky noodles with a great wok flavor and a non-oily finish. However, the real star of the show was the braised pig trotters. They were fall-apart tender, offering a perfect balance of rich fatty bits and soft lean meat, all served over a bed of cabbage soaking up the delicious sauce.
I still think about those trotters! Overall, the food hit the mark, the service was fast, and it felt like a genuine neighborhood spot – no frills, just excellent food coming out of the kitchen. I'm definitely coming back.

Disappointing Experience: Cleanliness and Atmosphere Issues
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. While the food was okay, the restaurant itself wasn't very clean, with flies flying around the tables and a noticeable smell of cigarettes. It felt more like a place for neighborhood grandpas to gather and chat rather than a dining destination.
The atmosphere was particularly poor.

Simple, Good Food, Cash Only
My experience at this restaurant was straightforward and satisfying. The ambience is small, simple, and not fancy or modern, giving it a classic feel. However, it's worth noting that it might not be ideal for those using a wheelchair.
The food was good, and I couldn't complain as every dish came out hot. I particularly enjoyed their siu mai, which was great with a mix of soy sauce and chili oil for dipping. The overall experience was positive: there was no wait, food came out steadily, and the bill was easy on the wallet.
I would recommend paying with cash here.
