Stick to the Classics
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. The vibes were high, and the service was nice, contributing to a great atmosphere. However, the bar was a little slow.
The food was just mid, and I'd recommend sticking to the classics.

Live Music Ruined by Noise
We came to Bix to enjoy some live music, but unfortunately, it was so loud and crowded that it was hard to relax or even appreciate the musicians — who were actually very good. The place itself has a nice atmosphere and classy interior, but the noise level ruins the experience. Everyone just talks over the music instead of listening.
The staff is fine, and the food is okay, though for the price, you’d expect a bit more. Overall, it’s more of a loud social spot than a place to really enjoy live jazz.

Hidden Gem with Outstanding Drinks and Food
My experience at Bix on Gold Street was fantastic. It's a true hidden gem. The drinks were outstanding and the food was excellent.
Our waiter was attentive and provided excellent suggestions. We never felt rushed, even though we were the last ones to leave. I will definitely return when I'm back in SF.

Bix: A Truly Unique SF Experience
My experience at Bix was truly unique. While San Francisco has many very good restaurants, Bix stands out as different. I absolutely love it.

Disappointing Dinner: Overpriced and Poorly Executed
Our dining experience for six people was largely disappointing. While the tomato tart and pork chops were good, the rest of the meal fell short. The fish was overcooked and excessively salty, and the lobster pasta was undercooked with overcooked, mysteriously fishy lobster.
The steak was mediocre and far too salty. Most of the sides were also extremely salty, with the exception of the mash potato. Our server was cold and impolite, seeming eager to clear the table and rush us out.
The jazz music was enjoyable, but the restaurant was extremely loud, making conversation difficult. Overall, it was a tiring, poorly serviced, and not tasty dinner, definitely not worth the money or hype. We will not return.

Disappointing Birthday Dinner at Bix
I visited Bix on Saturday, October 11th, to celebrate my birthday with a friend. Despite having a reservation and fond memories of past visits, my experience was deeply disappointing. From the moment we were seated, our waiter seemed impatient and irritated.
When I requested a little more time to decide on drinks, he rudely stated they were busy and we needed to order quickly, making it clear he wanted us to leave. Even patrons at the next table were taken aback by his behavior. The entire experience felt uncomfortable and almost hostile.
It's disheartening to see what has happened to this once-classic San Francisco restaurant. We left feeling upset and disappointed, and I won't be returning unless significant changes are made.

Amazing Server, Tasty Food, Loud Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, thanks to an amazing server named Michelle who was full of character and fun to chat with, making the experience well worthwhile. The food was very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was fun, although it was very loud.
The wait time was short, up to 10 minutes, and reservations are recommended.

Lovely Art Deco Gem with Amazing Fries
My experience at Bix was wonderful. It's a lovely art deco restaurant that evokes a feeling of old elegance. The food is consistently good, the drinks are great, and the music is enjoyable.
We particularly enjoyed the duck confit and bavette. The French fries were possibly the best we have ever had. The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5 out of 5.

Beautiful SpeakEasy with Great Food & Service
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful. It's a beautiful place that used to be a SpeakEasy during the prohibition era. The food was great, and the service was equally impressive.
We spent $170 for two people, excluding alcohol, which falls within the $50–100 per person range for dinner.

Delicious Food, Great Service for Special Occasions
We keep coming back for special occasions. While it's a bit pricey, the food is delicious. Both my husband and I always get the lobster spaghetti.
They didn't have POM juice for a Martini, but were accommodating and made one with fresh watermelon juice. The customer service is great, with one waiter per two tables.
