Flavorful Food, Outrageous Pricing
My experience at Besharam was a mixed bag. The food was genuinely flavorful, which was a definite plus. However, the pricing felt quite outrageous. To top it off, a mandatory 20% tip was added to the bill, which left me questioning my discretion to pay based on the service received. The name 'Besharam' certainly fits.

Exceptional Wedding Dinner at Besheram
We celebrated a wedding dinner at Besheram for a party of 25 guests. Chef Heena offered to tailor a specialized menu, but we opted for her regular Chef's Tasting Menu, which was a hit with everyone and exceeded our expectations. The menu featured a blend of classic Indian dishes alongside creative inventions, impressing even those who usually prefer more traditional fare. While one guest desired spicier pani poori water, most enjoyed the spice level. The aloo paratha was a favorite for another guest. Personally, I found the kachoris unbelievably good – spicy, sweet, moist, and flavorful, which was a surprise as I don't usually like them. All the food was excellent, creative, and made with fresh ingredients. For service, handling a party of 25 is challenging, but the team was outstanding. The pacing of the courses was flawless, allowing us ample time to chat and savor each dish without feeling rushed. They managed to make a large group feel intimate and relaxed, like a conversation with friends. The ambiance was perfect for our celebration. With Diwali approaching, the restaurant was adorned with festive touches like tea lights and garlands. The DJ played dance music and old Bollywood classics, creating a festive mood. The atmosphere felt casual enough for comfort yet festive enough for a special event. We are grateful to Chef Heena and her team for making our wedding dinner smooth and special. For a casual yet refined vegetarian dining experience, we highly recommend Besheram.

Incredible Flavors and Passionate Service
My first time at Besharam was a fantastic experience, and I'm already a fan. The drunken pani puri, maska paneer, and ringan no oro were all incredible, offering so much flavor and creativity in every bite. Our waiter was super friendly, and the owner/chef is the sweetest. You can truly feel the passion behind the food.

Good Gujarati Fusion with Atmosphere Issues
My experience at this restaurant offered good Gujarati fusion food. The inside atmosphere was great, however, despite having a reservation, we were seated in a garage-like structure for a birthday dinner, which was disappointing.

Decent Food, Service Issues
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. The food was decent but not extraordinary. I found the paneer satay appetizer to be just okay, essentially smoked paneer with peanut sauce. The cheesy garlic naan was excessively cheesy and didn't resemble traditional naan. The parantha was also not quite like authentic parantha, though it wasn't bad. The malai kofta was the only dish I somewhat enjoyed. The service was also disappointing. The waiter provided inaccurate information regarding serving sizes, implying one naan per person was necessary. Additionally, the bill included a substantial service fee (20%) and a SF mandate fee (5%), with an additional request for tips.

Underwhelming Birthday Dinner at Besharam
I visited Besharam to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from start to finish. The service was disappointing; at one point, our server mistakenly placed one of our dishes on the next table, left it there for several minutes, and then brought it back to us without a proper apology. This really set the tone for the evening. In terms of food, the only highlight was the pav bhaji, which was flavorful. Unfortunately, everything else we tried fell short both in taste and presentation, with most of the items being too salty. To add to the disappointment, the restaurant automatically adds on a mandatory 20% service charge. While we don’t mind paying for good service, we expect that level of attentiveness and hospitality in return, which was clearly lacking here. For what we hoped would be a memorable birthday dinner, Besharam failed to deliver. Between the lackluster food, inattentive service, and missed opportunity to make a special occasion feel special (despite asking for it in the reservation), I can’t recommend it.

Disappointing Service, Mixed Food
My group's experience at this restaurant was a letdown. We had a Wednesday reservation for 7: 30 pm and faced extremely slow service, waiting 25 minutes just to have our order taken. Although it was our first time, the waiter didn't offer any guidance on plate quantities or dish recommendations. While I enjoyed the dahi vada, pani puri, cheese naan, and cheesecake, the paratha was the worst I've ever encountered, tasting like cardboard. Overall, the food is good, but the overpriced nature of the meal, coupled with the horrible service, means I would not return.

Creative Flavors with a Few Misses
My experience at this restaurant offered a mix of creative and disappointing dishes. We started with the Masala mushroom, which was a "bomb! " and I "loved every bit of it. " The creative chai with rose syrup was also enjoyable. However, the khadi-bhindi, while creative, had raw garlic that overpowered the dish, leading us to hardly eat any of it. Additionally, the malai koftas were not as soft or smooth as I've had elsewhere. Overall, the food experience was a 3 out of 5, with service rated at 4 and atmosphere at 5.

Great Vibe, Mediocre Food & Service
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. While the atmosphere was fantastic, rated a 5 out of 5, the food and service were quite disappointing, both receiving a 3 out of 5. The prices were also on the higher side, with a price per person of $100+. My vegetarian mother actually preferred Copra much more, which was surprising.

Mixed Experience: Papdi Chaat Shines, Others Disappoint
My experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. While the papdi chaat was a standout, everything else was rather disappointing. The cholas had an overpowering and weird taste due to an excess of a certain ingredient. The tacos were excessively sweet, and the drinks were quite average. On the positive side, the service was excellent (rated 5/5), and the atmosphere was pleasant (rated 4/5). However, the food quality was very poor (rated 1/5). Finding parking was difficult, and the noise level was moderate.
