Delicious Apps, Great Service, Nice Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was quite positive, despite being a bit expensive. I absolutely loved the chicken momo and the pork ribs, which were fantastic appetizers. The pork chow mein was also good, and there was a lot of food served.
However, the appetizers truly stole the show. The atmosphere was nice, and the servers were great.

Extremely Spicy Dish Ruined Experience
This restaurant owes diners a statement in the menu as to how hot dishes are or that diners are encouraged to request mild, moderate, or hot. The servers also should routinely ask how hot you would like a dish. I got a dish called shapta and for me, it was unpalatable because it was so extremely spicy.
It was a very negative experience for me. The server apologized and said she should’ve asked me how hot I would like. What she didn’t do was go to the manager and try to make it somehow a better experience.
I had the meal bagged and gave it to someone and then looked for dinner elsewhere. I can’t really rate the food or the atmosphere, since I couldn’t eat the food and was so upset.

Incredible Tofu Shapta and Great Chowmein
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially with their vegetarian options. The Tofu Shapta was incredibly good, even surpassing paneer chilli in Indo-Chinese cuisine. The chowmein was also great, with a satisfying little bite to it.
While the momos were nice, they had a bit more filling than I personally prefer, but they served as a good appetizer for one or two pieces.

Fantastic Food, Service, and Atmosphere!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had a large family group of 9+ people, including several vegans.
Their menu is very vegan friendly, and even dishes not traditionally vegan could be made vegan. I highly recommend this place!

Refreshing Salad, Excellent Curries, and Pleasant Service
My experience at Base Camp was quite positive. We visited as a party of 2 on a weekday evening. The watermelon feta salad was a surprisingly refreshing starter, offering a light contrast to the richer, spiced dishes.
The pork momo was well-seasoned, featuring a good meat-to-dough ratio and a dough that wasn't too thick. The accompanying chili powder-esque side from Base Camp added a nice kick that enhanced the spices. For the main courses, both the cashew curry and the goat curry were excellent.
The cashew curry was sweeter and lighter with less spice compared to the goat curry. We paired these with the garlic naan, which had a pleasant crisp edge and wasn't overly bready. The portion sizes left us comfortably full.
The service was pleasant, with friendly waiters contributing to a chill atmosphere. The decor is modern. Be prepared for a price range of $30-$50 per person, and note that a 3% credit card charge is included on the bill.

SO GOOD! Highly Recommend!
My experience at this restaurant was SO GOOD! I highly recommend the Chow mein, which was a perfect 10/10, especially with pork. The Butter chicken also scored a 10/10; it was wonderfully tomato-y, thick, and paired perfectly with rice and naan.
The Garlic naan was another standout at 10/10 – it was incredibly crispy, which I absolutely loved. The only dish that wasn't a top performer was the Momos, scoring a 5/10. While they were good, they were quite doughy, which wasn't my preference, so you can probably skip this one.

Mixed Feelings on Food and Service
I guess I’m in the minority here, but I wasn’t the biggest fan. The place was very busy, and even with that, the food took an extremely long time to get. Multiple times, we were told they didn’t have a menu item almost 30+ minutes after ordering.
It was a 2-hour+ dinner after waiting for a table and waiting for our food. The food itself was alright. The Momos were great, the best thing I had, but they were expensive at $10 for just 4.
The Butter chicken was very tomato heavy and sweet, and the naan was good but not the best. That dish was $25, and I’ve had better for under $20 at many other places in SF. Overall, I would maybe go back again to try different things, but for the price, I don’t see the value.

Amazing Unique Flavors, Highly Recommend!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! Everything we tried was amazing, with unique flavors on all of our dishes. We ordered the most popular dishes and we weren’t disappointed.
The Kale chat was new for me, and I highly recommend it. The food score was a perfect 5 out of 5, and the service score was also a 5 out of 5. We were a group of 3-4 people and had dinner, with the price per person being $20–30.
