Great Grab-and-Go Lunch Spot
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic for a grab-and-go lunch. I highly recommend getting a fresh sandwich and a house-made beverage. It's the perfect setup for an impromptu picnic, especially with the nearby Alamo Square.
The service was super fast, even during the lunch rush, so there's no need to order ahead. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the bread was especially good. I'm giving it a 10/10 and will definitely be coming back often.

Delicious Banh Mi and Refreshing Spring Rolls
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had a delicious banh mi, and the baguette was perfect – a great crunch on the outside with a satisfying chewiness inside. The portion size was also hefty.
The shop is small, so you order and wait outside, but they make your sandwich pretty quick, so the wait isn't long. I also tried the shrimp spring rolls, which were nice and refreshing. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent Takeaway with Fresh Ingredients
While traveling, we decided to get takeaway. The experience was excellent. We enjoyed an excellent sandwich and excellent spring rolls.
The products used were very fresh and of high quality. We also appreciated the real carrot juice. It offered good value for money.

Great Marketing, Terrible Service
The restaurant has great marketing with a nice logo and a very neat design. However, the service was terrible. When we arrived and were looking at the menu, the cashier impatiently asked, "Are you ready?
Are you ready? " Then, when we received our order, I said, "Thank you, " and she didn't even look at us. I'm giving one star for the service.
Sorry, but I'm not sorry.

Tasty Banh Mi, Unexpected Ingredients
My experience at the restaurant was mostly positive, though with a slight deviation from my expectations. I ordered the Dac Biet banh mi, which typically includes head cheese and other cold cuts. However, this time, they substituted these with extra ham and pork sung.
While the sandwich was still tasty, it wasn't exactly what I anticipated based on the menu description. The food quality was good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable, both rated at 5. The service also received a perfect score of 5.

Bahn Mi Nightmare: Wrong Ingredients, Unpleasant Surprise
I was initially excited to try this restaurant due to its high Google rating. I ordered a Bahn Mi, specifically requesting it without head cheese. My usual order includes head cheese, pate, and fancy pork.
Unfortunately, the sandwich I received contained head cheese and was missing the pate. Despite emphasizing 'no head cheese' multiple times, the staff, who had limited English proficiency, did not seem to understand. To my surprise, I then discovered an unusual ingredient in my sandwich that resembled carpet backing.
I later learned this was pork floss, which is meant to be edible, but it had no flavor. I suspect this might have been what they considered 'fancy pork'. Consequently, without the pate and having removed the pork floss, I ended up with a sandwich dominated by the one ingredient I explicitly asked to omit: head cheese.
The atmosphere and service were rated low (2/5), and the food also received a low rating (2/5). The wait time was non-existent, and the noise level was quiet.

Magnificent Banh Mi Bread!
My experience with this take-out banh mi was exceptional! The bread truly knocked it out of the park – it was magnificent and seriously perfect. It had a crispy thin crust that didn't tear up the roof of my mouth, and a soft & utterly delicious interior crumb.
The fillings were pretty yummy too! 😉 I don't live here, but if I did, I'd definitely be a regular. 😁👍🏼 For vegetarians, there's a tofu option, and the mint, cucumber, cilantro & perilla leaves were all brilliantly fresh!
☺️ They also offer a nice fresh-squeezed juice selection. The price per person is between $10–20. While there are vegetarian options, it's only somewhat recommended for vegetarians.
Service received a rating of 4, and the atmosphere a 3. Parking is cash preferred, with paid street parking available, though finding parking can be difficult. Reservations are walk-ins only, and there was no wait time.

Disappointing Experience with Dry Beef and Cucumber
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I specifically asked for no cucumber in my sandwich three times, yet it was still included. The beef was dry, which was a letdown.
Additionally, there was no seating available, making the overall visit uncomfortable.

Banh Mi Viet is Back and Delicious!
Banh Mi Viet is BACK and all is right with the world. Around ten bucks gets you a baguette stuffed to capacity. Think crispy shell, soft center, and a crunch you can hear across the street.
I usually grab the classic combo with pate and cold cuts, but the chicken banh mi is also a banger. Pickled veg bring the tang, jalapeños bring the drama, and they do not hold back on the meat. Add the iced coffee if you want caffeinated jet fuel.
It’s still takeout, cash or Venmo is preferred, and they crank out orders faster than you can say “extra cilantro. ” Cheap, fast, delicious. Keep this place busy so it never disappears again.
