What a hidden gem in downtown San Diego! You won’t regret visiting. The food was amazing, and the service was wonderful. They were very accommodating to our two kids, offering options not on the menu. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the baby octopus and kabobs. We went for a holiday dinner with family visiting from out of town and would love to go again!

The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavor and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was another highlight; calm and on the quieter side, making it a great place to actually hold a conversation and enjoy your meal without noise or distraction. I highly recommend Athens Market for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a relaxed dining experience.

My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious. My Greek friend even confirmed that it's the most authentic Greek food in San Diego. The service was excellent, rated 5/5, and the atmosphere was also great, rated 5/5. We had no wait time, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is suitable for all group sizes, and the noise level was moderate. While parking can be somewhat difficult to find, it's paid street parking. The price per person is between $20–30, and it's highly recommended for vegetarians as several menu items do not have meat or have an option to exclude it.

My experience at this restaurant was truly special. It's the kind of place where old friends gather, regulars are known by their first names, and everyone feels the warm and personal service provided by owner Mary and her team. We stumbled upon this gem near the courthouse and immediately felt like part of the family. The experience only got better when the food arrived. The half-lemon chicken was incredibly tender, falling off the bone, and perfectly complemented by traditional Greek rice and green beans. The moussaka was so good it could make anyone's top 5 list, even your grandmother's. We absolutely can't wait to go back.

This restaurant is a true gem in downtown San Diego. We visited with our ten-month-old baby, and the owner and waiters were incredibly generous, kind, and funny towards him. We felt treated like family and were made to feel so welcomed. The food was also delicious; we particularly enjoyed the vegan gyros and lentil soup. If I lived in San Diego, I would return in a heartbeat!
