Awarded Restaurant with Mixed Food Experience
Visiting as tourists, we were excited to try this awarded restaurant. We opted for the 5-course menu, which began with gem lettuce and butternut squash soup. Frankly, it felt like cheap food, which is rarely seen in a high-calibre, Michelin-recognized establishment. The first two courses were forgettable, and the agnolotti was just alright. Our main courses of trout and wagyu were decent and standard in taste. Unfortunately, most of the dishes' flavors tasted 'flat, ' and no particular dish truly stood out. However, taste is subjective, so you might want to try it out. On a positive note, the service and hospitality were great.

Exceptional Michelin Star Experience
My experience at this Michelin-star restaurant in San Francisco was truly exceptional. The atmosphere was both elegant and relaxed, and the staff were surprisingly accommodating. They handled our slightly off-timed reservation with flexibility, and the servers demonstrated an impressive knowledge of every dish, speaking about them as if they had personally cooked them. Our special requests, including no pork and non-alcoholic drink options, were met effortlessly. To celebrate a family member's first job, they made the occasion extra special with a surprise pumpkin cheesecake ice cream topped with sprinkles. The 5-course menu was perfectly paced, with each plate offering a unique presentation and consistently surprising flavors. Dining in the second week of October, we enjoyed the recently updated menu featuring lovely fall-inspired dishes, which enhanced the overall experience. This restaurant stands out as one of the more affordable Michelin-star options in the city, making it a must-try for any celebration in San Francisco.

Excellent Food, Outstanding Service!
My experience at 7 Adams was truly exceptional. The food and wine were excellent, but what elevated our dinner to even greater heights was the service. Our server, David, was friendly and charming, looking after us extremely well throughout the night. A thoughtful touch from one of the helpers, who noticed my son is left-handed and adjusted his cutlery accordingly, made a significant impact. These small gestures demonstrate a strong focus not just on the kitchen but also on the front of house. The team at 7 Adams has made our dinner very memorable, thank you!

Mixed Bag: Service Shines, Food Falters
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The service and atmosphere were excellent, both receiving a 5-star rating. However, the food was only rated a 3. The starter courses of the seven-course menu arrived incredibly fast, which was surprising for a Michelin-star tasting menu, though I didn't mind as it was a weeknight. The main courses, however, were served very slowly, making the overall pacing feel clunky. I found the tortellini in broth to be undercooked, more raw than al dente, especially the corners. While the halibut and steak were perfectly cooked, some dishes like the heirloom tomatoes and honey nut squash velouté were a bit bland.

Excellent European Cuisine with Attentive Service
My experience at 7 Adams was fantastic. This restaurant is a great choice for European cuisine and suitable for any occasion. While the seating was a bit tightly seated, the crowd noise was only moderate, so it wasn't disruptive. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a great overall experience. The food was well proportioned and balanced, and the pacing of the meal was perfect, ensuring I never felt bored. My favorite dish was the halibut, which was incredibly tender and paired wonderfully with the sauce. Although the dessert was just okay for me, as I'm not a big dessert person, it didn't detract from the overall positive dining experience.

Mediocre Experience, Service Ruined It
EDIT — Talking to a bunch of our friends, it sounds like 7 Adams has been mediocre for at least a year, with many of them also having underwhelming experiences. It feels like they are riding the Michelin star wave and don’t actually care about providing a warm, exceptional experience anymore. — At one point during our meal, the server asked my husband, “are you done? ” and when we said we were still eating, he just walked away. His service ruined the experience for us. He didn’t smile once. He should probably get hospitality training. The portions were small. The vibe was fine, nothing special. We won’t be back.

Anniversary Dinner: Delicious Food, Excellent Service
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary with the seven-course tasting menu. The service was excellent and the dishes were delicious! While the portions were small, they were exquisite. My only note of complaint is that the Wagyu was rather tough and not easy to cut, which made me question the quality of the meat cut. The restaurant was busy, but the atmosphere was nice and not too loud, making it easy to talk.

Elegant Meal with Exceptional Service
My experience at this restaurant was truly amazing. The service was top notch, with everyone being incredibly friendly and involved. Each course was a unique and elegant presentation. While we enjoyed the halibut and pork loin main courses, the standout dish was the celery root agnolotti, which was rich and delicious.

Intimate Birthday Dinner with Well-Received Courses
We celebrated my wife's birthday with a nice intimate dinner. We opted for the seven course menu, and it was all well received. I particularly enjoyed their Japanese bread. The drinks were good as well.

Delicious food and fabulous staff!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was delicious, with the dessert being particularly memorable – it was "to die for. " I would return for the dessert and the milk bread alone. The wait staff were fabulous, contributing to a wonderful overall experience. I’d be thrilled to come here again.
