Exceptional Thai Food in San Francisco
My experience at Marnee Thai has been consistently excellent, whether dining in or ordering delivery. The Pad Thai and Pad Kaprow are our go-to favorites, and honestly, all the dishes we've tried have been exceptional. It's some of the very best Thai food I've had in San Francisco.

Amazing Food and Exceptional Service!
I had a great experience at Marnee Thai today! After picking up food a couple nights ago that was so amazing, I felt compelled to return. As usual, the restaurant was packed, likely due to the great food and service.
I made a mistake and ordered from the wrong location. When I arrived and discovered my food was at another restaurant, they contacted the owner. He called me personally and offered to remake my food at no charge.
I was so impressed! I took my food to UCSF, where I've been staying for the past two weeks, and had dinner with my wife. It was exactly as I expected – AMAZING!
I will not forget this great service and food. THANK YOU Manee Thai!

Small Portions, Slow Service, Poor Lighting
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The portions were small and felt overpriced. The service was really slow, and the waiter even urged us to finish our meal with 30 minutes left before closing.
The restaurant's atmosphere was also a letdown, being dark with poor lighting. I would recommend going one block further to Sriracha Thai on 9th and Irvine, which offers larger portions at a lower cost.

Excellent Thai Food Experience
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I've eaten here many times and it's some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The Massamun curry and Pad See Ew are excellent.
I highly recommend asking for a side of roti with the Massamun curry instead of eating it with rice. The Mango sticky rice is also amazing.

Delicious Food, Rushed Experience
My experience at this restaurant was a mix of amazing food and a frustrating service. We enjoyed the Tom Kha soup, green papaya salad, and panang curry beef, all of which were delicious. The Pinot we ordered was just okay.
The total bill for two was $97. Our primary complaint was feeling rushed by the wait staff. Despite arriving at 7: 30 PM and receiving our food by 7: 45 PM, the staff began cleaning and closing the restaurant at 8: 00 PM.
By 8: 15 PM, we felt compelled to leave, boxing up our remaining food. Although they stated closing time was 8: 30 PM, the early closing preparations significantly ruined our experience.

Mixed Feelings: Amazing Mango Salad, Disappointing Papaya Salad
My experience at this restaurant was a mix of highs and lows. The mango salad was absolutely AMAZING, a true highlight. However, the papaya salad was the worst I've ever had; I couldn't even finish it, which is surprising as it's usually my favorite dish elsewhere.
Despite this disappointment, I believe it's worth trying other items on the menu. I will return, but I will definitely never order the papaya salad again.

Delicious Thai Food, Worth Returning
My experience at Marnee was surprisingly delightful, especially since I wasn't a big fan of Thai food before. The food was consistently delicious, and I've never been disappointed by their specials. My favorite was a fish dish, and the steamed corn cakes were also good.
The service was excellent (5/5), and the atmosphere was pleasant (4/5). While finding parking space was difficult, it's one of the few restaurants in SF I would return to repeatedly. I had a great lunch experience here.

Disappointing Decline in Food Quality
My experience at Marnee Thai on 9th Ave. Has unfortunately changed. I've been a loyal customer for at least 20 years, and while the food was always consistently good, that's no longer the case.
I've noticed changes over the past year, particularly with the pad normai dish. It now seems to have more fillers, with large pieces of white onions and less bamboo shoot and chicken. The spicy chicken wings, which used to be crispy and coated in a flavorful spicy sauce, are now like boiled, limp wings with a less tasty sauce.
It's a shame to see such a decline in quality after so many years.

Good Food, Pricing Issue Resolved
I went to have lunch and found the food to be good. I ordered the Banana Curry and L Pad Kee Mao. While the price for the Banana Curry was listed as $12.
50, I was charged $21. 95. I shared my concerns with the waitress, but she seemed afraid to ask the manager for a refund.
I understand that cultural differences might lead to fear regarding job security. However, I contacted the owner, who apologized and refunded the mistaken charge. I am grateful for that resolution.
I just wish the waitress hadn't been afraid of her manager.

Favorite Thai Spot Near Golden Gate Park
Marnie Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants and the go-to place when I meet up with the family to hit Golden Gate Park. It's been there forever so it has that lived-in, comfortable feel and look. Of course, the staff are great, it's a Thai restaurant!
