My boyfriend and I were in Orlando for a short two-night trip. After a difficult car rental situation and a challenging day trying to find restaurants accommodating gluten-free and dairy-free dietary restrictions, we were fortunate to discover Shin Japanese Cuisine. The food was absolutely fantastic, featuring beautiful presentation, unique sushi roll options, and a great drink menu. Our waitress was AWESOME, making the experience even better. I highly recommend eating here.

My experience at the restaurant was amazing! We visited for lunch and enjoyed the Katsu curry and the Golden roll, which featured chef-picked sashimi. The rolls arrived quickly and were of top-tier sushi quality. The staff was also friendly and engaging. We will definitely be back!

My experience at this restaurant was mixed. While I've been a few times and found it normally decent, tonight's visit was disappointing due to the service. Upon walking in, my party and I stood at the podium for several minutes without any acknowledgment, not even eye contact. We waited for a long time and eventually decided to leave. Although they were clearly busy, a simple "hi, we're slammed" would have made the situation less awkward. On the positive side, the food was excellent, as indicated by a perfect score.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was wow! I enjoyed the garlic edamame, scallop / ikura / and unagi nigiri, and the creamy salmon roll.

This is a wonderful gem tucked away in downtown Orlando's food scene. As a frequent visitor to Orlando, I've experienced many sushi restaurants across the nation, and I can confidently say I'll be returning to Shin Japanese Cuisine on future trips. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by our server, who was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable about the menu, even providing details on the scallop sourcing. Two other staff members also provided excellent service, running food and refilling drinks with over-the-top kindness and politeness. The overall service from everyone was a perfect 10/10. For starters, we enjoyed the Miso soup, which was quite nice, and the Spicy Garlic Edamame, which was absolutely out of this world – a perfect blend of garlic, soy, and edamame with a hint of spice. Our main dishes included the Scallop nigiri, which was perfectly fresh with a butter-like texture, and the Double Spicy Salmon Roll. This roll, usually not my preference due to its complexity, was phenomenal with wonderfully fresh salmon, avocado, sriracha sauce, topped with salmon, Serrano pepper, spicy mayo, and wasabi tobiko. My partner raved about the Salmon Roe (Ikura), the scallop special, and the Freshwater Eel nigiri, all described as out of this world, fresh, and wonderful. Their roll, the Creamy Salmon (Shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese topped with torched creamy salmon, drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo), was amazing and tasted exactly as its name suggests. In conclusion, I highly recommend you run to Shin's at your next opportunity. If you appreciate Japanese Cuisine, you're doing yourself a disservice by not trying this hidden star.

My experience at this restaurant was marked by a 40-minute wait for my food, followed by a petty apology. Due to this significant delay and unsatisfactory service, I will never be returning.

I had high expectations for this restaurant due to its amazing reviews and pictures. Unfortunately, my first visit was a disappointment. I ordered two sushi rolls, and the spicy tuna tasted like canned tuna mixed with mayo, not like authentic spicy tuna at all. The surf & turf roll, which contained steak, was very smoky and lacked flavor. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff was nice and the gyoza was decent. I will be returning to my usual sushi spots as this one was a significant letdown.
