Amazing Experience with Caring Manager!
My experience at this restaurant was always amazing with great employees! The manager, Jordy, truly cares about the community she serves. The food was rated a 5, and the service was also a 5. The atmosphere received a 5. They offer dietary options like gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. The price per person is $10–20, and it's highly recommended for vegetarians. I visited for dinner as a party of 1 person and found plenty of parking.

Pastalini: A Pasta Revelation!
After trying pasta at countless places and being let down by bland sauces, Pastalini was a revelation. I had the spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic, parmesan, and mozzarella; simple yet executed with precision. The sauce balances acidity and sweetness perfectly, and the ingredients meld into a cohesive, flavorful whole. This is proof that careful technique and quality ingredients can turn fast-casual pasta into something exceptional. Wish I had known about Pastalini sooner.

Hidden Gem with Customizable Pasta!
Tucked away in a modest strip mall, Pastalini might be easy to overlook — but trust me, you don’t want to miss this hidden gem! The pasta bar concept is brilliant! You can choose your favorite noodles, sauce, protein, and toppings to create a customized meal exactly the way you like it. With so many combinations, you could visit over and over and never have the same dish twice! My latest creation was tortellini with sun-dried tomato sauce and chicken. It was bursting with flavor and absolutely satisfying. Even the small size was a generous portion and came with a side of warm garlic bread. The menu truly has something for everyone, whether you’re craving comfort food, something light, or just looking to get creative with your meal. Pastalini is a must-try for pasta lovers!

Mixed Feelings: Good Smells, Poor Food & Hygiene Concerns
It smells really good as walking in, but the food isn't so tasty and the meatballs were pink inside, ground beef pink, no go. 😞 The downside is that people grab pasta and all the food from the bar with their hands, wearing gloves, but with the hands like we don't have utensils in this time of year, 2025! It's nasty 😒. People speak with their mouth on top of the salad bar that stays uncovered, don't wear a hair net to cover the entire hair and a potential arm hair falls in the food, I can't imagine during cough/cold season. Looks clean at sight, but little things makes you see that they don't care to ensure is clean or a dna into your plate. The attend was nice, but what would really brings me back, the cleaning checks ✔️ and tasty food.

Delicious Food, Good Value
My experience at this restaurant was centered around the delicious food and good value for the money. While the atmosphere wasn't the main draw, it wasn't a deterrent either. The food quality was impressive, described as halfway between Subway and Pieology, which was a humorous observation. The staff were friendly, contributing to a positive overall experience. It's a place where you get good food and good service without breaking the bank.

Unique Italian with Customizable Pasta
My experience at this restaurant was a delightful surprise. We were looking for Italian food in La Jolla but struggled with parking, which led us to this unique and delicious spot. The concept is fantastic: beyond pizza, calzones, and salads, you get to choose your pasta, sauce, and toppings. Everything is then combined and sautéed right in front of you in a stainless steel bowl. I enjoyed potato gnocchi with shrimp and veggies, while one of my vegan companions had pesto on spaghetti, and another ordered meatballs. Although we didn't receive the garlic knots others mentioned, the dishes were served hot, tasty, and perfectly cooked. The "make your own" aspect was both unique and helpful. I would definitely return. The staff was also great and accommodating.
