Fun Retro Detroit Vibe in San Diego
My experience at this restaurant was a delightful blend of friendly staff, fun food selections, and a retro nostalgic Detroit decor. The chicken and beef sliders, along with the cheese bread, were absolutely fabulous. It offered a cool midwest experience right here in sunny San Diego.

Angry Pete's: A San Diego Treasure!
My experience with Angry Pete's catering was outstanding. The pizzas were absolutely amazing, featuring super creative pies with what I believe is the best crust in town. Beyond the incredible food, the service was great and the delivery was on time. Angry Pete's is truly a San Diego treasure.

Best Detroit Style Pizza Ever!
My experience at this restaurant was outstanding. I had the best Detroit style pizza I have ever tasted. The environment inside was also fantastic, with a great Detroit sports vibe. I will definitely be returning with my wife, who is from Michigan.

Great food, slow service
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was truly great, earning a perfect score. However, the service was a significant letdown, with an unusually long wait time of over 25 minutes for just two burgers. Despite the disappointment with the service speed, the quality of the food made it worth the wait in the end.

San Diego is nicer, but expensive
My experience here in Detroit is that the only thing I don't miss is the grey, overcast, cold, icy 9 months of winter. We only get about 3 good warm months: June, July, and August. Once September arrives, it's like clockwork; temperatures start dropping and don't warm up until the end of May. I would rather be in San Diego, which is much nicer, but it's way too expensive to live in California.

Mixed Feelings on Pizza and Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was a bit of a mixed bag. The interior felt like an 80's Taco Bell that had been invaded by a Detroit fan's man cave, complete with flags and TVs. While the pizza was okay, the slices were on the smaller side (about the size of an iPhone 15), and the canned beer wasn't very cold. I'm willing to give them another chance because the price was right and they offer a pretty big menu with lots of different choices. However, they need to step up their game to survive the intense competition on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. And find something to make them stand out to attract more eaters.

Great Detroit Style Pizza with Friendly Service
My experience at Angry Petes Pizza was a delightful exploration of Detroit-style pizza. We tried their Lions, Tigers and Wolverine pizza and their cheese pizza, and both were great. The pizza had a nice cheesy crust. I was hoping for a vegetarian option, but their veggie pizza only had pepperocinis and onions, which was a bit disappointing for vegetarians. The staff were very friendly and helpful in understanding the menu. They even recommended trying their chicken strips next time. Overall, a positive dining experience with excellent pizza and service.

Amazing Detroit Style Pizza!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had some very good Detroit style pizza in an old taco bell building. I loved the sauce and the crispy cheese on the sides of the deep dish. You can tell the ingredients were fresh! Also, the JoJo Wedge fries are bomb!

Delicious Smash Burgers and Pizza!
First of all, this place is VERY autism friendly, which we love. We always get smash burgers and a pizza. Everything is delicious and super fresh. Their sauces are so flavorful and they have fresh ingredients. We miss you guys at the Lake but are so stoked we can still get tasty food. I also highly recommend following them on Instagram; they post their new stuff and have different specials. Plus, the posts are hilarious. LOVE IT.
