Good Sushi, Generous Portions
My experience at the restaurant was positive. The sushi quality was good, and the portions were generous. While the rice could have used a bit more vinegar, it was still very tasty.
The service and atmosphere were rated a 4 out of 5.

Delicious Food, Welcoming Atmosphere!
I visited this restaurant for a treat-myself dinner on a Friday night. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and everyone there had great energy. They offer a lot of good specials!
I ordered the Kamikaze roll, the Hamachi Kama, and hot tea. I ate everything down to the last grain of rice; it was sooooo delicious. I love coming here for various occasions, and it never disappoints.
I'll be back soon! Arigatozaimasu!

Standard Japanese Fare, Lacks Spark
I've eaten here a number of times, and my experience is consistently okay. It's not my favorite, as there's nothing particularly special about the standard Japanese fare. However, the employees seem happy and are service-oriented.
My inclination is to give a higher rating because it's a local shop that deserves support, but the overall experience feels kind of lackluster. I believe there's noticeably better available, although the prices are quite good for the area.

Yummy food and welcoming atmosphere
My son described his experience as great, stating that the food was super yummy and he felt welcomed, especially as a visitor. He also appreciated that they were allowed to stay a little after closing. The overall experience was positive, highlighting the delicious food and the accommodating service.

Misleading Crab and Overpriced Rolls
I specifically asked when ordering if the crab was imitation or actual crab, and the cashier confirmed it was imitation. They also stated that the only roll not using imitation crab was the soft shell crab roll, which supposedly contained an entire soft shell crab. This turned out to be untrue; the roll contained only half a soft shell crab and was heavily loaded with imitation crab.
This was a significant letdown, especially considering the price charged.

Fave Sushi Spot with Great Value
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's one of my fave sushi places in San Diego. The prices are great for the delish sushi rolls.
The service is top-notch, and the place is always swinging!

New Management, Less Value
I have no idea what happened to this place! It seems to be under new ownership or management. I've been a loyal customer for the past 30 years.
While the food quality remains the same, the portion sizes have significantly decreased. I ordered the chicken with fried snapper combo and only received half a lemon wedge. When I asked for an additional wedge, I was told it would cost 50 cents extra.
I understand that prices are rising everywhere, but charging for lemon or rice seems excessive. I mentioned this to the waitress, who I believe is from the previous owner's tenure. Thank you for your business, but you won't get another dime from me.
There are tons of Japanese restaurants out there, so goodbye!
