Outstanding Experience at Wormwood!
My experience at Wormwood was outstanding, encompassing the food, service, and atmosphere. The scallops, in particular, were a true piece of art. This restaurant is now one of my new favorites in San Diego.

Amazing Food, Worth the Price!
My experience at this restaurant was truly amazing! The food was fantastic, and the service and atmosphere also received top marks. While the portions were on the smaller side, requiring us to order more than one dish, the overall experience was super worth it.
It's a little expensive, but the quality justifies the cost.

Long Wait, Cold Food, Poor Service
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. The drinks took an hour to arrive, and the food took even longer. When the food finally came out, it was cold.
My first drink wasn't good, and when I asked for a replacement, I was charged for it.

Amazing Evening with A++ Hospitality
My experience at Wormwood was amazing! Lucas and Savannah provided A++ hospitality, and the kitchen team delivered a meal that perfectly matched the front of the house. For dessert, we enjoyed Bone Marrow Shots after our Wagu Tartare.

Beware of Hidden Charges and Scams
I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could. They will charge a 4% surcharge for “rising costs” without telling you until you see the bill. THEN they will SCAM YOU for more money, claiming you tipped more than you did.
Good thing I checked my bank statements because they tried to scam me for more tip money after I already left a tip! HOW GREEDY DOES THIS RESTAURANT HAVE TO BE? !?
! DO NOT DINE HERE. They have a historical record for fraud against their employees and guests.

Parking Nightmare, Terrible Experience
My experience at this restaurant was overwhelmingly negative, primarily due to the impossible parking situation. I ate here once and decided to give it another try, but this time without using Uber. Unfortunately, the only taste left in my mouth is a bad one.
There is 100 percent no parking/valet, and no paid lot nearby. I spent 30 minutes circling around, eventually giving up and eating at Juniper and Ivy, which was lovely. If you want to be really angry and late for your reservation, go to Wormwood!
You'll see the building as you drive past it 10 times, yet never be able to enter.

Cosy French Gem with Divine Cocktails
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful! It's a cosy little place that has quickly become one of my new favorites. I really appreciated the innovative twist on French classics, and the cocktails were equally divine.
The staff were very warm and attentive, making our evening special. Thank you so much Jo for making our evening so special :)

Impressive Date Night Surprise!
What a lovely night! We visited this restaurant on a whim for a date night and were thoroughly impressed. The staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, exceeding expectations for what one might find at a Michelin-level establishment – a delightful surprise.
The food was absolutely delicious, with the Scallops, Beef Tartare, and Lamb being true standouts. Their liquor and wine list was impressive, especially the Absinthe list. We will definitely be returning!
Thank you for hosting us!

Pricey Brunch, Worth Trying Dinner
I enjoyed my brunch experience here, though it was quite pricey, with my portion alone costing $80. The Omelette, made with Humboldt Fog cheese, was good but certainly not worth the $80 price tag. My meal also included a Passion Fruit Mimosa, Poisson Cru, and a Buckwheat Crepe.
Despite the high cost, the atmosphere was great. While it wasn't the best French food I've ever had, I would consider returning to try their dinner menu.

A Birthday Nightmare: Avoid This Place
My experience at this restaurant was a slow descent into purgatory. Upon entering, the place seemed nice, and we were seated in a deserted back room with a private bar. When asked if we were celebrating anything, I mentioned it was my birthday, but this information seemed to go unnoticed.
The drinks were fine, and we still had hope. We opted for the smaller tasting menu, which included an appetizer, main, and dessert each. The appetizer, a beef tartar, was overwhelmingly vinegary and excessively salty, resembling gefilte fish with carrots and microgreens.
A jus was added to make it more palatable, but I could barely manage two bites. Despite this, hope lingered. The main course was a pasta dish that was truly awful.
It was green, tasted like pulverized locker room socks, and had a gummy chewiness that made the experience torturous. My husband's dish, though visually appealing, was cold, unseasoned meat with a gluey topping over what seemed like a makeshift latka. One bite was enough to know it would cause digestive issues.
At this point, I had lost all hope. The thought of being waterboarded on my birthday seemed more enjoyable. The caliber of the food was so consistently wrong that my mouth was already in a fermentation process from the first dish.
The meal concluded with a dessert that was not a creme brulee, but rather creme with melted sugar and an excessive amount of hard guava slices, containing rubbery bits. We left with broken hearts and severe indigestion.
