Great Tacos, Bad Plate Choice
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The tacos were great, but the restaurant's choice to serve them on styrofoam plastic plates with scolding hot tortillas and meat was a significant issue. This has happened multiple times, resulting in tacos burning into the plates.
I tried to explain this to the staff, but they didn't seem to understand. Despite this recurring problem, the food itself is great, which makes the situation a shame.

Disappointing Chicken Bowl Experience
My experience at the restaurant was largely negative due to the food quality. I ordered the chicken bowl, and unfortunately, both the rice and chicken contained hard chunks, which significantly detracted from my meal. Additionally, the overall taste of the food was off-putting.
While the service and atmosphere received good ratings (4/5), the food quality (2/5) was a major letdown.

Delicious Tacos, Great Atmosphere!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I enjoyed delicious tacos at a fair price. The adorable location and friendly staff made for a wonderful dining experience, not just a drive-thru.
They offer small indoor and patio dining options. I'm glad Google recommended this place.

Ridiculous Salsa Policy
As a long-time resident of San Diego with extensive experience dining at numerous taco shops, I've never encountered a policy as astonishingly ridiculous as this one. The restaurant limits the amount of salsa you receive based on your order item, and even then, they charge for extra salsa. It's baffling.
The previous establishment, Taco Fiesta, had to close due to rising rent, and unfortunately, Agave Taco Shop has taken its place with prices that reflect the increased costs. If you're visiting from out of town, I honestly recommend going to any other taco shop. No one else charges extra for hot sauce, which is quite a surprise.

Outdated Menu and Overpriced Burrito
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to an outdated online menu. I paid $15. 00 for a burrito, but the online menu stated it was only $10.
00. The burrito itself was just okay, and definitely not as good as what Alberto's offers. Because of the price discrepancy and the average food quality, I won't be going back.

Mixed Feelings: Good Drinks, Okay Food
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. I really enjoyed the Strawberry Agua Fresca, rating it a 5/5 on its own. The customer service was also cool.
However, the food was just okay, nothing to rave about. I was particularly disappointed with the spicy carrots, which weren't spicy at all 🤣, and I'm a sucker for heat that makes me sweat and cry lol. Given this, I'm not sure if I'll be back 👀.
I'd suggest giving it a try and forming your own opinion.

Annoying experience, good food
I arrived at the restaurant half an hour before closing, and the front door was locked. I was directed to the drive-thru window. I ordered three tacos and a churro, and was charged $28.
I questioned the price, and the employee explained it was for the "three taco plate. " She didn't specify that it was the large size, and I later discovered they had given me three very large tacos, which wasn't what I wanted. I had intended to order three mini tacos, which would have been significantly cheaper.
The employee's failure to mention the size options was annoying. When I commented on the price, she seemed upset and stated it would be her "last order of the night, " even though they were still open for another 20 minutes. Despite this negative interaction, I've returned a few times since, and the food is generally really good.
The same employee is usually nice, though she appears unhappy at work and is the only staff member I ever see.

Hit or Miss Food, No Restrooms
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food quality is definitely hit or miss; I've had good carne chips and then just okay carne chips. While not bad, it wasn't impressive enough for me to do backflips.
A significant downside was the lack of restrooms. The atmosphere was rated low, and while service received a decent score, the overall experience was impacted by these factors.

Delicious Food, Excellent Service, Worth the Price
My experience at the restaurant began with a fantastic deal: flowers tortillas, rice, and beans for just five dollars. I then ordered the taco and enchilada combo plate and the carne asada nachos. The beans were absolutely amazing, and the vegetables were nice and fresh.
I also enjoyed a refreshing Agua Fresca, which tasted more like melon than pineapple. The customer service was consistently five-star; the staff were very helpful and patient. While the prices are a little high, I found it to be worth it.

Best Chilaquiles in the State!
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional, particularly with their food. I firmly believe that restaurants usually excel at a few specific dishes, and in my opinion, the Chilaquiles here are by far the best in the entire state. I judge a place by whether I would come back and if I crave their food, and I've visited three different times.
Each visit, I found the Chilaquiles to be amazing, and I genuinely crave them. The overall experience was rated highly, with a perfect 5/5 for both Food and Atmosphere. The price per person is reasonable at $10–20, and it's highly recommended for vegetarians.
