Amazing food, hole-in-the-wall vibe
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially the food, which was out of this world. The staff was nice, and I really enjoyed the hole-in-the-wall vibe. I'm taking one star off for service only because I found the prices to be expensive, but overall, the quality of the food and the atmosphere made it a great visit.

Favorite Chinese Vegetarian Spot
This is our favorite Chinese vegetarian restaurant in SF. They also have already made food you can buy to take home. I only gave four-star for service and atmosphere, because it is very Hong Kong authentic, if you know what I mean.

Excellent Dim Sum To Go!
I have enjoyed visiting Lucky Creation for over 20 years whenever I'm in Chinatown. While it's not the best place for a sit-down meal due to its no-frills ambiance, or for Chinese-American vegan food (I'd recommend Oakland's Nature Vegetarian for that), my rating is for their dim sum, which is excellent! What more can you ask for than an abundant box of dumplings, char siu bao (my childhood favorite!), yuba rolls, and fake meat for under $10?
! I highly recommend taking it to go and enjoying it while wandering up Grant to Columbus. Thank you Lucky Creation for your service!

A True Gem for Food Lovers!
This might be my favorite restaurant in the world. Everything is delicious, especially the eggplant, pepper, and bean curd stuffed with taro! Their gluten meat is fabulous.
It's the kind of little hole in the wall, mom and pop place that I dream about. The atmosphere is very cozy and lived in. They just want to make you delicious food.
The omnivores I've taken here love it, too! So good!

Vegetarian-Friendly Chinese with Fast Service
As a vegetarian, it was nice to find a restaurant where I could order anything on the menu without dietary restrictions. I found this spot through a Google search while craving Chinese food. While I was hoping for more options like shui jiao or jiao zi, I settled for the Lucky Creation Fried Rice.
The waitress was friendly and the service was very fast. The food was good, though it didn't blow me away. They also seem to have items available that aren't on the menu, like bao zi, so it's worth inquiring about.

Vegetarian Delights at a Hole-in-the-Wall Gem
My experience at this restaurant involved ordering three dishes, accompanied by two bowls of rice. The Hot and Sour Soup was a standout, perhaps my favorite of the three. While it had more tomato than I've encountered in other versions, the flavor was truly great.
Next, I tried the Sweet and Sour Pork, which interestingly used gluten as the protein. The sauce was on point, though the gluten itself could have used some stuffing to provide more substance with each bite. Finally, the Tofu Eggplant Stuffed with Taro offered an interesting combination that I enjoyed, although it felt a bit heavy.
The flavor was good, however. The restaurant itself has a definite hole-in-the-wall vibe, but the service was fast and the staff was quick to assist. I would definitely stop by again to explore more dishes, especially as a vegetarian.

Disappointing Vegan Experience
As vegans visiting on a cruise ship, we were looking forward to our experience. Unfortunately, the entire visit was disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, and while the service was fast, it lacked friendliness and warmth.
The prices are high, which would be acceptable if the food quality were better. Overall, it was a total disappointment, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

Amazing Vegetarian Chinese Food Gem
This place has been such a staple in my life, a true go-to spot that I almost didn't feel the need to review. However, seeing the current rating of 4. 2, I felt compelled to try and nudge it upwards.
While the establishment isn't fancy and the service might seem gruff to first-time non-Chinese customers, they have consistently served an incredible, delicious, and very affordable variety of vegetarian Chinese food for ages. My personal experience has always been more than good. For instance, when I lived in SF, I dined here several times a month.
After moving out of state and returning after a four or five-year break, one of the waitresses recognized me from outside and even asked if I wanted my favorite dish, the Sweet & Sour Pork – a testament to their exceptional memory and kindness. As a white woman, I can attest that those put off by the initial service should give it time; these are genuinely some of the nicest restaurant owners I've ever encountered. The food is ALWAYS AMAZING, with dishes like the Sweet & Sour Pork, Almond Chicken, and the Gluten Puffs being standouts.
It's the only thing that makes me wish I still lived in SF.

Still Tasty After All This Time!
I hadn't eaten here since before the pandemic, and it's still as tasty as ever. The restaurant was constantly busy, with people coming in for their food non-stop. The service was friendly and attentive.
