Mixed Experience with Catfish and Sides
My experience involved ordering the 2 pc catfish with 2 sides, specifically macaroni and potato salad. Unfortunately, the grease was definitely old and negatively impacted the taste of the fish. On a positive note, the macaroni was good and the cornbread muffin was good.
The potato salad was just okay, and the famous blue drink was just ok. Due to the issues with the fish, I wouldn’t return. However, the lady at the register had good customer service skills.

Disappointing Food Despite Great Service
We visited from New Orleans on 12/26 and ordered the Big Greedy platter, which included dirty Mac, gravy and rice, yams, two Kool-Aids, and an extra piece of catfish for about $60. The vibe was nice and the customer service was 10/10. However, I think the food would have been amazing if they had changed the grease.
The food was dark and the grease tasted OLD. We were initially planning to visit on Christmas Day, but they were closed. Due to the food quality, I don’t think I’ll try again!

Tasty Shrimp, Sweet Sides, Dry Mac & Cheese
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. Parking was almost none, making it difficult to find a spot. While dine-in is available, I noticed many people were picking up their orders.
I ordered the chicken wings and shrimp combo. The shrimps were huge and tasty, and the chicken wings and shrimps had a nice crunch. However, the beans and ground beef were too sweet for my preference, though they did have a nice flavor.
The macaroni and cheese was dry. Overall, the shrimp and chicken wings were the highlights.

Great Food, Nice Atmosphere, Reasonable Prices
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. I enjoyed the chicken tenders, though the shrimp wasn't as enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of catfish.
The presentation was great, and the quantity on the big plate could easily feed 3 to 4 people. The atmosphere was absolutely nice, with TVs and music creating a pleasant environment. For the current times, the prices were reasonable.
I would definitely go there again.

Absolutely the Best Food!
My experience at this restaurant was bombastic! Their food is truly the best. I especially loved the cantaloupe water and the sweet potatoes.
You can’t go wrong with any of the protein options; literally everything is good, though those are just my personal favorites. It's a locally owned and operated small business. Yum yum yum!

Mixed Feelings on Flavors
I tried their wings, collard greens, mac & cheese, and cornbread to compare flavors. The wings were the best part – well-seasoned, good size, and cooked perfectly with a nice peppery flavor. The chicken was solid.
The mac & cheese was decent but very basic, tasting like a simple baked mac with just salt and pepper, nothing extra. The collard greens weren’t for me; they tasted more like chard than collards, were very plain, and lacked the slow-cooked, seasoned flavor I expect from soul food. They tasted bitter and felt more steamed than simmered, to the point I had to spit them out.
The cornbread was good, fluffy, and lightly sweet, perhaps with a hint of vanilla. Overall, the chicken was good, mac okay, cornbread fine, but the greens missed the mark. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not that good.

Mixed Experience with Food and Sides
My experience at the restaurant was a mix of good and bad. The Chicken wings, shrimp, and catfish filet were all good. However, the sides were not good.
My yams were hard and not cooked, the red beans and rice were very dry, and the greens tasted burnt, like they were from the bottom of the pot. They ran out of shrimp egg rolls, but the Mac and cheese was good. It might have been a bad day, and I will give it another try.

Shady Pricing and Disappointing Food
My experience at this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The food was okay, but the real issue was the pricing on delivery apps. It felt like a scam, with items listed for $4 more, not including app fees.
Some items were a staggering $6 more than picking them up in person, which is clearly intentional. The food itself was also a letdown compared to their social media pictures. Overall, it was a very shady experience, and I wouldn't return.

Soul Food? Not Here.
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The food is definitely not soul food; while it has salt, it lacks soul. The dishes are overpriced, especially considering the seemingly dirt-cheap ingredients.
They use the same breading for everything, making chicken taste like fish and fish taste like tenders – there's no difference in taste, only texture. The brand's claim of serving soul food is misleading, as it's not southern at all. I would have been more satisfied eating at Popeyes.
To call this menu soul food, they need to do more than just dip food in grease and use absurd amounts of seasoning. Honestly, this food makes Popeyes taste Michelin star.

Amazing Food with Soul!
My daughter and I had an amaaaaazing first-time experience here! The cooks put so much love and soul into the food. We tried all the sides and they were incredible.
The Red Beans and Rice are top-tier, as is the gravy, Mac n Cheese, Catfish, and the Mean Greens. The baked beans were also great. By far, the best food with lots of flavor and meat in the greens.
