I discovered the perfect hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot. From the outside, you’d never guess how good it is, but honestly, everything was a 10/10. If you’re in San Diego and looking for Chinese food that actually tastes homemade and authentic, this place is it. The service was so warm and friendly—you can really tell it’s a family-owned restaurant that cares about what they’re putting out.

I don’t come to San Diego often, but this is a must stop. It’s a great spot with great service and great food.

My experience at this restaurant was the most unexpected and amazing find ever! <3 It's incredibly vegetarian friendly, and the food was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, truly tasting like Home Cooking rather than a typical restaurant. The entire place exuded a warm, safe, and comforting atmosphere. The vegetable chow mein and kong pau tofu were absolutely phenomenal. It was also open on Christmas, which was a pleasant surprise. We had such an amazing meal here, we truly feasted and left no crumbs. It was a spiritually ascendant experience.

I was initially skeptical because of the outside appearance of the restaurant, but the food was beyond my expectations. It was so, so good! We came in with a small group and ordered five different things, and everything was delicious. I will definitely be coming back, especially for the war wonton soup – they were the best wontons I've ever had!

My experience ordering late-night takeout was fantastic. The food was ready in an impressive 10 minutes. The owner was incredibly sweet and friendly, making the interaction very pleasant. I was particularly impressed with the hot n sour soup, which was seasoned perfectly. I didn't even need to add my usual white pepper. I will definitely be ordering again.

My experience at this Chinese restaurant near my hotel was relatively good. I found the chicken chow mein to be delicious and the potstickers were fantastic. I highly recommend this place. 5 stars ⭐️ all around.

I found this hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant to be in a perfect location for me to grab a bite while my friends were at the bar next door. While the appearance isn't the most eye-catching or neat, it was sufficient to draw me in. I ordered a bowl of shrimp noodle soup and found plenty of seats available. I chose a spot facing the street, enjoying the view of passersby. After placing my order and paying at the register, I experienced a long wait, possibly due to the cook being backed up, as there were others ordering and seated. However, my shrimp noodle soup arrived steaming hot. It was initially too hot to eat, requiring me to sip the soup before I could enjoy the shrimp. The entire bowl was fresh and yummy, with a surprisingly generous portioning. Despite the good quality, the taste was missing something; it lacked that distinct Chinese soup flavor and could have used a bit of spice or 'kick'. I didn't complain and considered adding soy or hot sauce but decided against it. I finished the soup quickly, and it definitely hit the spot. Corner Cafe did its job. The staff was not overly attentive but provided what I needed, like a fork, and was polite and mild-mannered. The service seemed to be over-the-counter and self-serve. I would return, but I might try a different dish.
