Outstanding Experience at Flores!
My experience at Flores was excellent. The service was outstanding, with everyone being warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We shared several dishes, and everything impressed us. The guacamole was exceptionally fresh, the ensalada verde with carnitas was bright and balanced with its lime-jalapeño dressing, and the queso fundido with handmade tortillas was incredible. Both the carnitas and chicken tinga were perfectly seasoned and tender. The food was great, and the vibe was fantastic. I can't wait to return and try other dishes on their menu.

Beautiful Ambiance, Disappointing Food
My experience at this restaurant was a tale of two halves. The atmosphere was truly beautiful and inviting, which is why I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the setting. The camarones were extremely salty, and the tortillas were hard on the edges, barely edible. The quesadilla was average, though the enchiladas de pollo were good. The churros were dense and heavy instead of light and fluffy, though the dips were tasty. Overall, the food was disappointing and didn’t reflect how nice the place looks.

Disappointing Group Dinner Experience
I hosted a birthday dinner for 24 people at Flores, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The service was chaotic and rushed. Our server seemed overwhelmed, running around without attentiveness. Food was taken away before guests had even finished eating. A guest tried to order more drinks but was discouraged by the server, who asked her if she “still wanted them, ” making it sound like he wanted her to cancel. We had a cake and were already aware of the dessert fee, but the server loudly reminded us of it in front of all our guests while taking the cake. It felt unnecessary, embarrassing, and unwelcoming. The cake was also rushed when brought out, which ruined the celebratory moment. Despite booking for 24, there were not enough chairs or tables ready. Guests had to stand and wait while more were brought over. The billing was the most concerning part. First, they handed us a bill with an extra $150 charge. Luckily we caught it before signing. On top of that, we ordered 10 shots, but the server mistakenly brought 12 and charged us for all 12 — an error on their part that we had to pay for. With such a big group, it’s very easy to miss billing errors like this, and I no longer trust the accuracy of what we were charged for drinks. Considering we paid 5% + 20% in service fees on top of doubling the minimum spend for the table, the service was absolutely not worth it. Flores is a beautiful restaurant, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend it for group dining.

Good food, loud and overpriced
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. The food was good, but the atmosphere was very loud and noisy, making it hard to hear. We were charged for four items we did not order, though this was corrected. Overall, it felt overpriced.

Exceptional Tacos and Bar Experience
My experience at Flores was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to the fried fish taco, which was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced – alone worth the trip! The bar team, Jared and Ramon, were absolute pros. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate, making the experience even better. The tequila, mezcal, and sotol collection is remarkable and curated with care. Jared guided me to a new favorite, and Ramon made one of the best mezcal margaritas in the city. The space is lively but not too loud, with a breezy Union Street charm and a front patio ideal for people-watching. Flores has earned a spot on my regular rotation. 🌮✨
