This used to be my favorite pizza place in SF 25 years ago. It's clear there's new management, and it's so sad! The pizza was awful, and the place was FILTHY! To make matters worse, they charged us $35 for our pizza, which is a premium price for a pizza. My wife almost made us walk out; she should have because it just got worse the longer we were there. The bathrooms were gross, and the door wouldn't lock. The owner/manager was doing business books on the tables, etc. , etc. We should have figured it out when we arrived at 6 pm on a Friday and there were NO other customers—none came in our entire time there. It's SOOOOO sad as this used to be the best. Please just close down as you have destroyed the once proud name of this 70-year-old pizza company.

Eeeeew. This place is still open. It’s been around since early 80s if not longer. Gross. Do not go here.

My experience at the restaurant was very positive. The service was very good, and the owner was incredibly nice and funny. I particularly enjoyed the pizza, which was very goof.

My experience at this restaurant was great, largely due to the goated owner who is very funny and does a great job of managing everything. The pizza was pretty solid 👍.

Don’t get tricked by the name; their pizza doesn’t taste like Sicilian pizza or any Italian pizza I’ve had before. We ordered two pizzas, and both were distasteful. There was no tomato sauce and very light cheese, with a soggy crust. It definitely didn’t smell like fresh dough or simmering tomato sauce when we walked into the restaurant. There is a strong odor when you enter, with messy tables and scattered things around the counter. The owner was friendly, talks loud, and was helpful; I wish the food was better.

My experience at this restaurant involved enjoying some good solid pizza with a delicious crust. I would recommend asking for "light crust" as they can sometimes burn it underneath. The staff were accommodating when we returned a pie and the replacement was good. We ordered two large pizzas with mushrooms and garlic, and they were excellent. While the food was great, the dining room appeared abandoned, which seems to be a reflection of decreased dine-in business and difficult parking. The service, however, was very good.

My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. On the positive side, the thin crust pizza was absolutely delicious. We ordered a large pepperoni takeout, requesting it well done. It had a decent amount of pepperoni, which made it a bit greasy, but that was fine with us. The pizza was also enhanced with Italian seasonings, which added great flavor. However, the ambiance inside was quite off-putting. The place was completely empty, though this might have been due to the day we visited. There was a very odd smell inside that I couldn't identify, suggesting a need for better ventilation and possibly a deep cleaning. Random boxes and clutter were scattered around, making the space unwelcoming. They do offer beer on tap and a lot of hard liquor. On the downside, the cost of the large pizza was a bit high compared to other local pizzerias. I would consider returning if there was a deal or better pricing.

My experience at Pirro's was fantastic! I enjoyed their amazing pizza, which is some of the best in SF. The service was amazing as well. Pirro's is truly a gem, and now they even have a full bar. I will definitely be back!

My experience at the restaurant was great for a late night snack. After a long drive, we arrived in town and enjoyed a delicious combination pizza.

My experience at Pirro's was disappointing. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was the dust on the pizza oven, suggesting it hasn't been active for years. They appear to make pizza in a smaller, separate oven. Next, the ingredients were all covered up, giving the impression they haven't been accessed recently. Finally, there were piles of trash behind the counter. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this neighborhood spot.
