Papalote's Burritos: A Must-Try!
I've been a devoted fan of Papalote since discovering their jarred salsa in 2015, and it's been our family's go-to ever since. My first visit to the restaurant was with my sister when she moved to the city for college. While I could rave about the amazing meat, friendly service, and efficient staff, I believe the salsa is the most crucial ingredient in a great burrito.
The fresh salsa here is even better than the already excellent jarred version. These "artists" have created an excellent restaurant that feels like an institution. My only suggestion for improvement would be to bring this culinary gem inland; if we had something like Papalote in Sacramento, I doubt I'd go anywhere else for a burrito.

Bomb Burritos, Huge Portions!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The burritos were absolutely bomb, and they were incredibly huge because we stuffed ours. I would definitely come again.

Disappointing Return to Papalote
My recent experience at Papalote was really disappointing. As a long-time fan, this first order in several months was a letdown. The food was generally 'meh, ' a stark contrast to my memory of flavorful dishes.
My Chile Verde burrito lacked any discernible chile flavor and tasted watery. The Carne Asada Tacos, which came with added Rice and Beans for $4. 75 each, were not as expected; the charge was for the included rice and beans, not side orders.
This visit has completely put me off the place going forward, and I'd suggest trying the food truck across the street instead.

Overpriced and Tasteless Taqueria Experience
My family and I visited this restaurant after seeing positive Yelp reviews, but I honestly don't understand how it has more than one star. It's overpriced compared to other taquerias in the Mission. We ordered two burrito bowls, one with shrimp and one with chicken, and two tacos.
The girl taking our orders was extremely impolite and rude. The food itself was tasteless; the beans and rice tasted like canned food. The bowls were filled with 90% lettuce and a sprinkle of protein.
We paid $61 for two bowls and two tacos. Adding to the unpleasant experience, there were flies all over the place. It was not a good time, and I would never come back.

Best Burritos in Town!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had the best burritos in the city. The Al Pastor, chile verde, and mole burritos were the absolute winners for me.
The food quality was exceptional, and the service and atmosphere were also top-notch, both receiving a perfect 5/5 rating.

Best Burrito in California!
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional, particularly for its burritos. I was visiting from Southern California and wanted to find the perfect San Francisco burrito for my husband, who had never tried one before. Both the grilled veggie burrito and the tofu burritos were absolutely amazing.
The orange salsa was also a standout. As someone who finds it difficult to locate good actual veggie burritos in Southern California, which tends to focus on fake meat for Mexican food, this place was exactly what I had been missing. Beyond the incredible food, the people working here were really nice, and they even had a good bathroom.
It's been over a week, and I'm still thinking about that burrito – it was truly memorable.

Delicious Burritos, Great Online Order
This was my second time ordering online, and the experience was fantastic. I enjoyed the delicious chicken burritos, which came with spanish rice and black beans. I also appreciated the note to "add tequila on the side ;)".

Excellent Pollo Asada Burrito!
I finally got to try Papalote after hearing a lot about it. I ordered their pollo asada burrito for lunch, and it was excellent! The portion size was more than enough, even for me, a 6'3" stocky guy who works outdoors all day.
I'll definitely be back!

Delicious Burritos and Friendly Service!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I tried the breakfast burrito (huevos a la mexicana with pinto beans and cheese) and the achiote tofu burrito (with refried black beans and cheese). Both were absolutely delicious!
The achiote marinated grilled tofu was really flavorful, and the huevos were equally tasty. The house roasted tomato salsa lived up to its reputation; it was so good we got a pint to go. The cashier was very friendly, and the service was fast.
I'll definitely be back to try the vegan mole.
