Best Shawarma Joint
My experience at this restaurant was great. I found the shawarma to be the best in the city, with only one other place being slightly better. It's a go-to spot for shawarma, and I've enjoyed many delicious ones here over the years. The food is consistently on point.

Favorite Shawarma Spot!
This is my favorite shawarma in the city. I used to get it for lunch at work like four times a week. The food received a perfect score of 5, and the service was also excellent with a score of 5. The atmosphere was rated a 4. I highly recommend the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. For vegetarians, there's a vegetarian menu or section and it's highly recommended. Parking is unavailable and difficult to find.

Tiny spot, big flavor!
This is a literal hole in the wall, only seating 1-2 people. It's kinda pricey, but that makes sense for a small business in the Bay Area. The food is absolutely worth it, and the service and atmosphere were both rated a 5/5. It's highly recommended for vegetarians, and there's a vegetarian menu or section available. There was no wait time, and the wheelchair accessibility is good with double doors and no step. Parking is difficult to find and unavailable.

Amazing Food and Drinks, Quick Service!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was great, fresh, and tasty. 😋 I was also impressed with the amazing drink options, which included many types of kombucha, bottled coke, mango lassi, and loads of juices, filling two full standing refrigerator containers. Ordering food was easy and it was quick to get. They offer kabob plates generously stacked with meat and sides, as well as a veg option with falafel. Yum! The staff were also nice. The atmosphere was rated a 4, food a 5, and service a 5.

Nostalgic Gyro Hit
It has been a minute since I visited my old stomping grounds. Back when my office was in Embarcadero 2, I used to swing by this spot almost every week. Today, nostalgia (and hunger) hit, so I stopped in to grab my go-to order -- the Lamb and Beef Gyro. It still hits the spot, just like old times. The gyro is $15. 99, which is pretty average for a quick lunch in the Financial District. Now, despite the name, this "gyro" does not come in pita. Instead, it's wrapped in a shawarma-style flatbread. Personally, I do not mind the switch, but I know some purists might raise an eyebrow. Just a heads up! There is no dine-in space here, so be ready to grab and go. Luckily, there is no shortage of spots nearby -- plenty of open seating around Embarcadero Center, or you can head to Justin Herman Plaza and enjoy your meal with a side of people watching. Not a bad lunch break if you ask me.

Disappointing Decline in Meat Quality
I used to eat here quite often pre-pandemic and truly loved their food. We decided to visit this place again in 2025, only to find out that the meat quality has significantly changed for the worse. While the service and atmosphere were excellent (rated 5/5), the food quality has drastically declined (rated 2/5).

Big City Mediterranean Deli Gem
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's a big city real eclectic Mediterranean Deli with generous portions that are super flavorful. It has become my go-to spot for quick PU food when I'm staying at the Hyatt across the street. The food is rated a 5/5 and the service is a perfect 5/5. The atmosphere is also quite good, rated at 4/5.

Oasis Grill: A Delicious Return
During a multi-month professional training program in San Francisco's Financial District a few years ago, weekend lunch options were limited. Oasis Grill was recommended and quickly became a favorite among us for the rest of the program. My office was nearby, so Oasis Grill became a go-to lunch spot for the following few years during my workweek. I particularly enjoyed the falafel and shawarma wraps. The shawarma offered a choice of beef, lamb, or chicken. My regular visits were abruptly interrupted by the pandemic. Last week, a craving for a falafel wrap led me back to Oasis Grill. Though the staff had changed, the place looked mostly unchanged. The staff quickly filled orders, and most importantly, the falafel wrap was just as tasty as I remembered! The wraps come in two sizes: regular and deluxe. The deluxe has a few extra items for a couple of dollars more, but the regular is just as satisfying. The store is very small, and there is no place to sit, but if you are looking for a takeout option, it is a very good option.

Good Shawarma, Pricey for SF
I had the beef shawarma, which tasted very good. The fries were simple and good as well. While the food was enjoyable, it did seem a bit expensive; I paid $30 for myself, which felt pricey for this type of place. However, I understand this is downtown SF. The cashier and the cook were very nice! I would recommend this place.

Best Casual Mediterranean in the Bay!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's the best casual Mediterranean spot in the bay area, hands down. The food was incredibly fresh and clean, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it.
