Exceptional Omakase, Worth the Effort
My experience at this restaurant was one of the top 3 traditional omakase experiences in Seattle. Reservations are hard to come by, but it's well worth the effort. The personalized sake pairings made the excellent experience even better.
I enjoyed the counter seating with no wait time, and the atmosphere was a perfect 5. The food was also a perfect 5, and the service was equally impressive at a 5. The only minor drawback was that parking space was difficult to find.
The noise level was quiet, making it easy to talk.

Delicious Food & Friendly Service!
I'm so glad I managed to get a reservation for dinner here because the meal was absolutely delicious! We were fortunate to try some new dishes due to the turn of the season. Everything was incredibly fresh and light.
The fish dishes were particularly impressive, showcasing Chef Taneda's skill in incorporating new flavors with seasonal fish. I loved that there were several dishes featuring uni, and even as someone who usually dislikes squid due to its rubbery texture, I found the squid here to be the best I've ever had – creamy and light! The staff were exceptionally friendly, and I enjoyed talking with the chef.
Contrary to other reviews, there is a bathroom within the restaurant, complete with a heated Japanese toilet, which was a delightful reminder of Japan. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried, including the sake pairing. I highly recommend this place; I left feeling happy and full!
Securing a reservation was challenging, as they fill up in less than a minute. My tip for booking: log into your Tock account beforehand, navigate to the desired date and time, and have everything pre-set. As soon as it turns 11, refresh your phone, and you should be able to secure your spot quickly.
This method worked for me on my first try. Good luck!

Exceptional Kaiseki Experience
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's my favorite sushi spot in the city. They serve in a kaiseki-style format, which makes each dish feel like part of a story, going beyond just nigiri.
The menu changes with the seasons, ensuring there's always something new and exciting to look forward to. The balance, flavor, and presentation of every dish were consistently on point. While booking is extremely difficult, the experience is absolutely worth the effort!

Best Sushi in Seattle, Worth the Wait!
I attempted to secure a reservation for my friend's birthday in August, but encountered some issues with Tock, their reservation system. Despite this, I genuinely believe Taneda did their utmost to resolve the situation swiftly and gracefully. Technical difficulties are often beyond anyone's control.
Although I couldn't get a spot at the 11 AM and 11: 45 AM openings, I was pleased my friend managed to secure one after I stopped trying. I will certainly continue to support this restaurant and plan to try again for my husband's birthday in the future! Regarding the food, this is unequivocally the best sushi I've had in Seattle.
If I had the opportunity to dine here monthly, I would. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the seafood is incredibly fresh. I experienced several seafood dishes I had never tried before, and each one was a 10/10.
I typically don't enjoy uni, but the uni they served lacked that overpowering oceanic taste; it was remarkably clean and buttery. Their sake selection was also excellent! I eagerly anticipate my next visit!

Unacceptable Reservation System
My experience with Taneda’s reservation system was absolutely unacceptable. They announced on Instagram that reservations would open at 11: 00 am Saturday, but nothing happened. Over 15 minutes later, they posted again stating it would open at 11: 45 am, and again, nothing occurred.
Finally, without any further notice, they dropped the reservation link just before noon, completely unannounced. Many people, including myself, wasted the entire morning waiting and refreshing, hoping for a fair chance to book. By the time it actually opened, we had no warning and missed out.
The comment section on Instagram was filled with frustrated guests voicing the same complaints. It doesn’t matter how good the food is; if a restaurant has zero respect for people’s time, it reflects a total disregard for its customers. This chaotic and careless system is not okay, and they clearly don’t care.

Challenging Reservations, Worth the Effort!
My experience at this restaurant was a 10 out of 10! The biggest challenge was getting reservations, as they are gone within the first few minutes of opening. However, once that hurdle was cleared, the rest of the experience was lovely.
The staff were incredibly nice and personable, and the chef was so much fun! It's an absolute Seattle must!
