Good Food, Mixed Feelings on Rebranding
My boyfriend and I visited on the second opening night of their rebranding (now known as chubby club/wagyu factory). Lol. The meats were good and tasty! To be honest, even though they included more selection/options and sides, we really missed how it was before (bbq all you can eat) like the wagyu cubes, wagyu toro, and finger meats. Some sauces and sides were completely swapped out (like the chopped green onion sesame sauce), and they didn’t have any Himalayan salt or black pepper. : (However, it's still a good place to eat for a fun interactive dinner! We were totally digging the playlist of edm music and the positive vibes from the friendly staff. Kudos to Wyatt, Edward, and Eric as they were super attentive and helpful. It's reasonably priced for all you can eat. Definitely recommend!

Last Day at Niku, Reopening as Wagyu Factory
My experience at Niku on its last day of operation, 11/29, was excellent. The restaurant will be reopening as Wagyu Factory in early December, which is a chain restaurant from California. I had a fantastic time, with the Service, Atmosphere, and Food all receiving a perfect score of 5. It was a memorable final visit before the transition.

Disappointing Service and Hidden Charges
I was very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We ended up being charged an extra $60, and while it’s true we had three plates left at the end, the whole situation was created by the staff’s unclear and misleading behavior. They never clearly explained any policy about leftovers or extra charges. Instead, everything was handled in a very vague way, almost like the tiny fine print in a contract that’s designed to confuse people. When we tried to understand what was going on, it felt like they were deliberately avoiding the main issue and downplaying their responsibility. Bad service is one thing, but charging extra without transparent, upfront communication is unacceptable. This experience really damaged our trust and we won’t be coming back.

Disappointing Service and Overcharged
I was really disappointed with my experience at Niku this time. The restaurant wasn’t overwhelmingly busy, but two servers were very disrespectful to our table – and on top of that, we were even overcharged by about $60. One of them walked over and very casually threw out a “last call, ” without explaining how many minutes were left or checking whether we wanted to order anything else. Everyone at our table was caught off guard. It felt like we were being rushed to finish and pushed out, which made things really awkward and gave us a sense of being treated differently from other guests. If the goal was to manage the floor or control timing, the very least they could’ve done was explain it clearly: something like “You have X minutes left for last orders” or “We close at X time, ” instead of dropping one vague line and walking away, leaving guests to guess what’s going on. When guests feel respected and in a good mood, we naturally order more and tip better. But when the attitude is poor and we feel rushed, it doesn’t matter that the extra money isn’t going directly into those servers’ pockets – it just makes people not want to come back at all.

Favorite Spot for Fun Dining!
This has by far become one of my favorite places to go. I had a great service experience, enjoyed the good food that I get to grill on my own, and found the pricing to be good. It was a fun experience!

A Gem Worth the Wait!
Worth the 2 hour wait, especially after reserving a spot ahead of time on their online waitlist! I highly recommend getting the $5 upgrade, as we only ate from that menu and a bit from the bar. The staff were very friendly and provided all the necessary information. They were attentive, changing the grill, checking in on us, and were very quick with our requests. I loved the small details like having pink salt and freshly cracked black peppers at the table. The cuts of meats had beautiful marbling and were consistent with every order. Everything melted in my mouth and was perfectly seasoned. They offered a great variety of dipping sauces and sides. This place is a gem that I will bring all my family and friends to. The only suggestion is to add something to grease the vegetables, as they got a bit too dry on the grill. The shop is clean and the sauces are peanut-free! My favorite cuts were Beef tongue, short ribs, duck, and waygu cubes. For a unique drink, try making your own with the sides: lemon sauce, water, pineapple juice/syrup, and mashed watermelon (optional: add jalapeno for spice). Dip your meat in the curry dish for a unique curry flavor.

Excellent AYCE Meat and Service!
I want to acknowledge our server, Derrick, who greeted us cheerfully and was there for our every need. He was very patient with my elderly Mom, who is slow. We love coming here for the AYCE meat! The sides, sauces, and dessert are self-serve. The price is reasonable for what you get. We order the best meat, and the buffet price is the same as ordering an expensive steak at other restaurants! So worth it to come here! Great food and great service!

Rushed Out Despite Empty Restaurant
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. After paying our check and an 18% tip at 4 pm, and while we were still finishing our fruit, the staff began to rush us out. This was particularly frustrating as more than half of the restaurant was empty, and there was no one waiting at the door. It felt like their primary goal was to get customers to pay and leave as quickly as possible. If you're looking for a place to nicely enjoy your meal, I would advise against coming here.

Disappointing Grill Experience and Odd Service
I was excited to try this place, but I was a little disappointed. The meat was okay, but most of it was very fatty, which caused problems with our grill. Our grill was missing part of the flame diffuser, so we had large flames all night that burned most of the meat we ordered. The grills need some maintenance. Additionally, the waiter gave us a last call for orders about 55 minutes into our 90-minute limit dinner, which was odd as we still had time left to order. The waiter's timing for last call was peculiar.

Great AYCE BBQ with Friendly Staff
We opted for the Regular AYCE BBQ priced at $35. 95. Visiting on a Friday late dinner, we found the restaurant surprisingly not busy. The selection of meats was impressive. To maximize value, I recommend prioritizing all the meat you can eat at the start and saving the veggies and appetizers for later, as you might be too full for them by then. Don't forget to try their ice cream machine for dessert. Overall, it's a great place to dine with very friendly staff. There's ample parking on-site. We will definitely be back!
