Excellent Tacos Exceeding Expectations
I was craving tacos after a week away from Mexico and decided to try Loxicha. Honestly, they exceeded my expectations. The tacos were very good, and the portions were generous.

Obsessed with the Pico de Gallo!
I highly recommend choosing THIS location over their sister restaurant on 15th street, as it's kitty-cornered to Roosevelt. Their refried beans are an obsession; I'm toodling on how to scratch replicate them at home. The true super secret, though, is their “pico de gallo” (or what I first asked for as “Mexican slaw”: an extra order of).
I cannot get enough of that! It's toothsomely shredded green & red cabbage; minced tomatoes, cucumbers, white onions; minced cilantro; with a touch of lime, red spice & salt. The young man who seems to single-handedly run the place is a charmer & gem.
