Pleasantly Surprised by Mochica!
Although I don't speak Spanish, my experience at Mochica was great! We originally wanted to go to Plow, but the wait was too long. We ended up stumbling upon Mochica and had a fantastic time.
The Service, Atmosphere, and Food were all excellent, each receiving a perfect 5/5 rating.

Exceptional Peruvian Gem with Great Access
My experience at Mochica was exceptional. This Peruvian restaurant in San Francisco offers a dining experience that is both warm and refined. The food is truly outstanding, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors.
I particularly enjoyed the perfectly seasoned ceviche and the tender lomo saltado, both cooked with precision. The freshness of the ingredients and the thoughtful presentation showcased real culinary craftsmanship. The service was equally impressive; the staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to offer great recommendations.
I felt genuine hospitality from the moment I walked in. In terms of convenience, access and parking were relatively easy compared to other popular city spots, with nearby street parking and paid lots making the visit stress-free. Overall, Mochica is a perfect blend of delicious food, gracious service, and hassle-free access, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions.

Excellent Peruvian Food and Service
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The Peruvian cuisine was perfect, served in a cozy setting. The service was very attentive.
A highlight was the Pork Belly skewers. We also enjoyed the ahi ginger ceviche and yucca fries. For drinks, we had a Pisco cocktail and a mezcal tamarind concoction.
I highly recommend this place!

Where's the Chicken?
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I ordered chicken and waffles, but the chicken was barely present. It felt like I received "waffles with a hint of chicken"!
This is ridiculous.

Delicious Fusion Peruvian with Top-Notch Service
While not the cheapest Peruvian option, the food and drinks at this restaurant were exceptionally fresh and lived up to expectations. My wife, who prefers traditional ceviches, enjoyed the "fusion" ceviche "Tasting, " particularly the spicy coconut milk version. For the main course, we opted for the classic Lomo Saltado, featuring perfectly grilled beef with ample sauce to complement the rice and French fries.
I enjoyed a Peruvian Pilsen beer, and my wife had a traditional Pisco Sour. We concluded with a delightful "Quinoa" Flan for dessert, accompanied by a Peruvian Inca Cola that tasted reminiscent of Bazooka bubble gum. Two main courses were more than enough to satisfy us, and we left no leftovers.
The wait staff were also Top Notch. I highly recommend this Off the a Beaten Track spot!

Delicious Tuna Tartare and Ceviche
My experience at the restaurant was very positive, especially regarding the food. I enjoyed the tuna tartare and the ceviche sampler. Among the ceviches, the ceviche chifa was my favorite.
I particularly loved the tuna tartare. The service was excellent, rated a 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere was good, rated a 3 out of 5. The meal was for lunch, and there was no wait time.

Authentic Peruvian Gem - A Must-Try!
My new favorite Peruvian restaurant outside of Peru! The Pisco sour was excellent, what a difference a good Pisco makes. From the classic lomo saltado with skinny fries, to a really excellent coconut milk ceviche, this took all the flavors I was craving and amped them up to 11.
We had a group of 7 and everyone loved it. Vegetarian/vegan options were much appreciated!
