Great People, Atmosphere, and Food
My experience at the restaurant was largely positive, with great people and a wonderful atmosphere. I arrived just 10 minutes after the smoothies were no longer available, so I opted for small bites instead. The food, service, and atmosphere were all rated a 5 out of 5.
Vegetarian options were clearly labeled and highly recommended. We experienced no wait time. Dogs are welcome on the patio, and it's wheelchair accessible.

Consistently Delicious Steak Skewers and Burger!
This is my third time here, and this place never disappoints! I got the steak skewers and the burger—both were so good, I’ll be ordering them again next time. And the fries?
Perfectly thin and crispy, absolutely delicious!

Huge Burgers and Great Late Night Bites
My experience at this restaurant was great for a late night bite and drinks. The burger was absolutely huge, so much so that I could hardly finish it. The side of fries was also incredibly generous, easily shareable by two people.
The service was rated a 4, and while finding parking space was somewhat difficult, the overall atmosphere and food were rated a 5. It's a cool place with excellent food portions.

Great Food and Service, a Bit Pricey
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The food was great, and the service was equally impressive. I particularly enjoyed the burger, which was very good.
However, it was a little pricey.

Elegant Space, Casual Service, Decent Breakfast
During my stay at 1 Hotel, I visited Terrene for breakfast. The restaurant boasts a very elegant space, but the service model is casual: you order at the counter, take a number, and seat yourself. While the staff bring your food to the table, all other necessities like condiments and napkins are self-serve.
I ordered a matcha latte, mango smoothie, two breakfast plates, and coffee. The food was decent overall. The bacon and eggs were as expected, and the sourdough toast stood out as particularly good.
The side salad and breakfast fingerling potatoes were nice additions, though the potatoes were noticeably heavy on the salt. I wished for more adult drink options at breakfast, like a mimosa or Bloody Mary, especially since a full bar is available, though this wasn't advertised. Terrene might be better suited for dinner, but it works for a quick, upscale-feel breakfast without full service.

Underrated Gem with Fantastic Food
Terrene in San Francisco is a true hidden gem, definitely underrated. We initially planned for breakfast but arrived just as it ended, so we stayed for lunch and were not disappointed. The restaurant is located within a hotel and has a casual service style where you order first, seat yourself, and your food is brought out via a number tag.
We enjoyed the Harissa chicken bowl, a matcha latte with coconut milk, and an açaí smoothie. The chicken bowl was fantastic, featuring super fresh, vibrant ingredients, perfectly grilled chicken, sweet onions and veggies, fluffy grains, and a flavorful sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The matcha latte tasted like ceremonial grade matcha: smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, with the coconut milk complementing it without overpowering.
The açaí smoothie was also a hit, fresh and refreshing. The atmosphere is stunning, reminiscent of a blend between the Public Hotel in NYC and The LINE in LA – minimal, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Its location by the Embarcadero makes it a great starting point for a waterfront walk, though be prepared for San Francisco's parking challenges.
While the prices are on the higher end, the quality and overall experience make it well worth it. I would 100/10 come back, and finally try the breakfast!

Pretty Upscale Date Spot
Came here for a double date and it was so pretty inside! The plates all come pretty quickly, with the babaganoush with the pita coming out super fast and a generous portion of pita. The lamb pita was delicious, small but the meat was very juicy.
For dessert, the ice cream dessert was huge and great for sharing, plus it was super refreshing. The veggies were all scrumptious, with the elote sticking out the most with its corn and super tasty sauce. However, it's pretty expensive for pretty small plates, and the portions are very small.
It was also hard to flag down the waiters. The brussel sprouts were just average, and the shakshuka was a bit too lightly flavored for me. Overall, this was a nice upscale date experience!
