Tasty but Tiny Portions
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was really tasty, but the portions were TINY, more of a tapa style than a full course meal. It was good to try once, but I don’t think I’ll return.

Overrated Shrimp, Good Scallops, Small Portions
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. I found the Umami shrimp to be overrated; the shrimp was not fresh and even had a bad smell. However, the scallop dish was good, offering a complex flavor. Despite the good flavor, it felt overpriced, especially considering it cost almost $18 with tax for just two scallops. I also tried the beef jerky, which was pretty good, though dry. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place due to the small portion sizes and the cramped atmosphere. With only 10 tables in a small room, it felt very tight, and I was hesitant to use the bathroom due to the tiny, difficult-to-navigate hallway.

Amazing Food, Small Portions, Pricey
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was truly amazing, especially the coconut ice cream, which was insanely good! However, the portions were quite small, and the overall experience felt pricey. Given the cost, I expected better service. The atmosphere was rated a 3 out of 5.

Delicious Thai with a Few Minor Issues
My experience at Prik Hom was a lovely dinner. The Scallop & lemongrass appetizer and the dessert (coconut pancakes & coconut ice cream) were by far my favorites. The Mushroom curry soup was light and subtle, and the Seafood curry was rich and tasty. However, I did not love the texture of the stir-fried shrimp. They were out of a few things, like white rice and coconut water. The atmosphere was quiet, conducive to a casual catch-up with friends. Like another reviewer said, it's definitely worth trying at least once!

Unique Thai, Aggressive Service
My experience at this restaurant was centered around their tapas-style seasonal and regional Thai dishes. The concept encourages ordering many small plates to share with your party, and it's important to note that you won't find mainstream Thai dishes here. My favorite was the stir-fried eggplants, which I would definitely recommend. The only significant negative aspect was the aggressive waiter; he repeatedly insisted we order the scallop dish despite our lack of interest. We eventually ordered it, but it was just okay. Overall, the food was good, and the place seemed like a nice local spot.

Scallop Appetizer Shines, Other Dishes Good
My experience at this restaurant has been positive over a couple of visits. The scallop appetizer was the star of the show, offering light yet complex flavors. On a recent visit, the oxtail soup was also quite good. While the other dishes, like the curry and fish, were good, they didn't quite stand out from other tasty Thai restaurants in the area. It's definitely worth trying at least once.

Unique and Well-Executed Dishes
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was incredible, with every dish being very unique and well-executed. I would love to see more menus and more restaurants from this chef. The sour pork with fried rice curry and the smoked young coconut ice cream are unmissable. The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Authentic Thai Flavors with Creative Touches
My experience at this restaurant was a delightful discovery of authentic Thai cuisine. I was particularly pleased to find a place where sweetness isn't the dominant flavor profile. I thoroughly enjoyed dishes like the sour pork, the banana blossom and squid, the eggplant, and the beef jungle curry, all of which were delicious and showcased many creative touches. The absolute highlight for me was the smoked young coconut ice cream, which brought back so many nostalgic flavors I haven't encountered outside of Thailand, such as the Thai smoked candle flavor, candied water palm fruit, and young rice syrup. It was truly special to experience these tastes in San Francisco, evoking precious memories of visiting family in Thailand.

Exceptional Duck and Smoked Coconut Ice Cream!
My experience at Prik Hom was truly memorable. The menu is rotating and seasonal, offering exciting new dishes. I had the duck, which was the best I've ever tasted, surpassing even French restaurants in San Francisco. The basil eggplant was also really good. For dessert, the smoked coconut ice cream was divine, making me want to offer many prayers. The restaurant offers a great balance of well-balanced and unexpected flavors and textures. The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the food also received a 5. It's a quiet place, making conversation easy. They have a large vegetarian selection and are highly recommended for vegetarians.
