Spectacular Service, Delicious Food!
My overall experience at this restaurant was very nice. The service was spectacular, and the drinks were beautifully made by Tony. I tried the Fatty Tuna Uni Bowl, which was good but could be improved; the combination of rice and toro wasn't proportional.
The Crab Risotto was completely different from its online images but was the best dish I tried, with a very soft texture and bold flavor. The Scallop Crudo offered an interesting combination with cucumber broth and raw scallop. The Edamame was the best dish ever, featuring a very interesting combination of flavors.
For dessert, the Panna Cotta with granola on top provided an interesting and pleasant combination. Despite some dishes being unavailable due to seasonal menu changes, my experience remained amazing.

Best Uni, Service Hiccups
My experience at this restaurant was a culinary highlight, particularly for the Tuna Uni bowl and the Hamachi cold appetizer. As a lover of Japanese food, I can confidently say it was the best uni I've ever had! The service, while generally nice, had some inconsistencies.
We were told the hamachi was a good starter, so we ordered it immediately, but it never arrived until we were nearly finished with dessert. We even canceled it before dessert arrived, suggesting a potential communication breakdown among the staff. Despite this, the staff were super nice.
The ambience leans towards clean and luxurious, rather than warm and cozy.

Worst Dinner Experience Ever
I don't know if they changed the menu or something, but this was the worst dinner experience I've ever had. The fish quality was awful, and honestly, everything was awful. The Miso Cod was drenched in some suspicious sour liquid that made it mushy and disgusting.
The potato croquettes had the taste and consistency of instant mash and were clearly microwaved. The roll was just a health hazard. This is the first time in my life I'm writing a review, and I even feel bad for doing so, but people need to be warned.
It was so bad.

Good Atmosphere, Service Lacking
My experience at the restaurant was primarily about the atmosphere and company. Despite there being only one person working the tables, he was very attentive when he could get to us. However, he did forget to put in our order at one point, which was understandable given the circumstances.
The food was good, and the atmosphere was excellent.

Worst Dining Experience Ever
My dining experience was by far the worst I've ever had. I strongly urge others not to come here. We endured an unbelievable 1.
5-hour wait and only received six pieces of sushi. The chef was completely unprofessional, jumping around, shaking his head, and chatting with others while barely preparing any food. Even when we politely raised the issue, he ignored us and continued his 'performance.
' It was so uncomfortable that the two servers, who didn't speak English, just kept refilling our water nonstop, clearly embarrassed by our lack of food. This place shows zero respect for its guests. It's not just slow service; it's an absurd, frustrating experience that will ruin your night.
Please don't waste your time or money here.

Exceptional Food and Service!
Last night, I had the opportunity to try several dishes, and I must say, they were all good. I particularly enjoyed the potato croquettes, which were incredibly creamy and satisfying. The amberjack crudo was a delightful step up, offering a burst of sharp, perhaps vinegary flavor.
Even better was the donburi; the fish was so tender it simply melted in my mouth. However, the absolute best dish I tried was the crab risotto – I could honestly eat a bucket of it! Our server, Hugo, was fantastic.
He was very easy to talk to and contributed significantly to making our night enjoyable. Additionally, a friend who is vegetarian was very pleased with the special arrangements made for them. Although I'm not typically a sake drinker, I sampled the Red Samurai and Green Samurai sakes.
Both were smooth and easy to drink, but I especially appreciated the slight tartness of the Green Samurai. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Good food, poor communication
We dined at Sushi Sato last week and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The chef’s tasting menu was beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by what followed.
The final bill included a 20% service charge, something we didn’t realize in the moment because it wasn’t immediately obvious. As a result, we unknowingly added an additional 20% tip on top, totaling hundreds of extra dollars. We were happy to tip generously, but this felt like a preventable error.
After realizing our mistake while reviewing the bill later that night, we reached out to the restaurant via phone and email the very next day. We’ve followed up several times over the past week and have yet to receive any response whatsoever. No acknowledgment, no clarification, no willingness to address the issue.
Just silence. This lack of communication is deeply disappointing and unfortunately overshadowed what was otherwise a good meal. In contrast, we visited Trestle (another fantastic SF spot) later that week, where their 20% service charge was clearly circled and no tip line was included, making it impossible to double-tip unintentionally.
That’s the kind of thoughtful, transparent experience we appreciate. I don’t take joy in leaving a critical review, but I do believe guests deserve clarity on service charges and the courtesy of a response when they try to rectify a genuine mistake.

Unique Omakase with a Catch
This hidden gem in Nob Hill was a delight to find. My partner and I had the pleasure of partaking in the omakase experience. We were met with unique and tasty sushi, where the chef explained each intricate step of the sushi making process.
The omakase included 12 courses for $125 (after tax & tip), where you are served 8 pieces of sushi, 2 small appetizers, a small sliver of an entree, and a dessert. Each course was unique, each with its own special twist. The chef’s presentation of each sushi and the risotto were truly the stars of the night.
My only complaints stem from the amount of time we had to wait in between each course and the amount of food received during the experience. While it was lovely to watch such a passionate chef create each individual sushi, we watched other servers and chefs stand around while we were left to starve in between courses. Omakase took 2 hours to finish and we left unsatisfied and still extremely hungry.
I highly recommend you visit this location, but eat a quick meal beforehand. This restaurant is definitely worth a try!

Exceptional Valentine's Day Experience!
I had an incredible experience here for Valentine’s Day. The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect. We enjoyed the Omakase Set menu, which offered plenty of high-quality dishes.
Tommy at the bar truly made the evening special—he was friendly, attentive, and created a fantastic experience for us.

Chef Bo's Bar Seating is a Must-Try!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic, especially when seated at the bar with Chef Bo. The food was of high quality, featuring fresh fish and creative touches like a yuzu pepper sauce on the scallops nigiri. I also enjoyed their three interesting house-brewed beers.
While we initially couldn't book the bar seating via OpenTable, we were fortunate to get it by asking upon arrival and are so glad we did. The interaction with the chef and staff was great, and I'm already anticipating how popular this spot will become.
