Service Lacking After Debit Card Issue
My experience at this restaurant involved decent food, offering reliable staples in a casual, low-key atmosphere. However, the service significantly detracted from the meal. On my last visit, the server lost my debit card after swiping it.
Despite signing to pay, neither the server nor the manager made any effort to rectify the situation. They appeared completely uninterested in the fact that they lost my card, offering no discount or incentive for a future visit, only a shrug of indifference.

Great Experience with Flavorful Food
I came here for dinner and had a great experience. The Alan's Garlic Bread was so good. I ordered the carbonara with chicken, which came in a big portion and was very flavorful.
The environment is a great fit for a date night, being not too loud and not too quiet. I would definitely be back again.

Comforting Classics at The Sausage Factory
My experience at The Sausage Factory in Castro was wonderful, offering a truly comforting meal. The meatballs were incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I also enjoyed the meat lasagna, which was hearty, rich, and always satisfying.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food never disappoints. It's definitely a neighborhood favorite worth visiting.

Authentic Italian Gem in the Castro
My experience at this Castro gem was wonderful! It's a place loved by locals and travelers alike 🥳. Opened in 1968, it has been serving authentic, homemade pasta, pizza, and Italian comfort food ever since.
Walking in feels like stepping into a time capsule, with charming wood decor and friendly staff. It's nothing fancy, but it's definitely authentic and genuine. If you're in the area, you should definitely give it a visit 🌞🤩.

Mixed Bag at Sausage Factory
My experience at Sausage Factory was a bit of a mixed bag. The food was rated a 4, but I found the mussels to be on the smaller side, and the overall meal felt fairly average. However, the pasta was quite good—definitely the highlight of the evening.
The garlic bread was decent, though nothing special. The service was rated a 3, and the atmosphere was rated a 4. I’m curious enough to return and try their pizza next time, hoping it lives up to the hype.

Delicious Food, Beautiful Setting, Awesome Service
By invitation for my birthday and also my daughter's, we attended The Sausage Factory in San Francisco. I ordered the Veal Milanese, and my daughter ordered the baked meat ravioli. My brother and partner ordered pasta.
We all finished all our plates. The food was extremely delicious, along with the crème caramel, which was topped with a raspberry sauce. The setting was beautiful, and the service was awesome and attentive.
See photos.

Decades of Delicious Italian American Comfort Food
I've been a patron of The Sausage Factory for decades, and it consistently delivers the kind of Italian American food I grew up with. The staff are always friendly and attentive, contributing to a wonderful dining experience. The food is truly delicious, and the portions are quite generous.
I also appreciate their decent selection of wines, perfect for pairing with a pasta dish. Even when arriving with a large group without a reservation, they've always managed to make room for us, highlighting their accommodating nature. The restaurant also features a HUGE banquet hall.
Overall, it's a place with great food, great folks, and charming vintage vibes.

Classic Castro Spot with Great Food
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, with great food and generous portions for the price. I particularly enjoyed the white house wine, which was very nice. While the food and wine were excellent, I felt the staff could be a little more open and welcoming.
They weren't unfriendly, but we've experienced more hospitality at other places. Nevertheless, it's a classic place in Castro and definitely worth a visit.
