Excellent Food and Service, Noisy Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, with excellent food and impeccable service. The pasta was delicious, and the lamb was good. The service was outstanding, and it was helpful that they spoke Italian.
However, the atmosphere was a bit too noisy, although it was still possible to talk. Parking was somewhat difficult to find.

Mixed Experience: Good Service, Average Food
Our first visit here was a mixed experience. The service was a strong point, attentive and efficient from start to finish. However, the food didn’t quite hit the mark.
While the salads were fine, the main dishes and bread lacked distinction; nothing was bad, just nothing memorable. A notable downside was the seating for two. Initially placed very close to neighboring tables in the main dining room, we were moved to a spot along a busy walkway used by staff after requesting more privacy.
This made private conversation difficult and wasn’t ideal for a date night. On the positive side, the restaurant filled up quickly with families and larger groups, which is usually a good sign. I’d say it’s worth trying if you’re in a group of three or more, but it's probably not my pick for a more intimate meal for two.

Wonderful Dinner with Great Food and Service
I had a great dinner at Lupa! I was impressed with the salmon, which is gluten-free. Everyone else enjoyed their pasta dishes, and while they aren't available gluten-free, there are plenty of other options.
The atmosphere is wonderfully warm, charming, and cozy. The service was exceptional. It's a great spot!

Great Spot in Noe Valley
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. I found it to be a great little spot in Noe Valley. The food was great, and the service was great as well.
They offer both inside and outside dining, and the patio is dog friendly.

Great Food, Minor Sauce Hiccup
My experience at the restaurant was largely positive. I was so impressed with the menu that I wanted to order everything! I decided on the rack of lamb, which was perfectly cooked.
However, it came with a thick sweet sauce that wasn't to my personal taste; I'd opt for it on the side next time. The pasta and salads were also great, and everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Authentic Roman Gem with Excellent Value
My experience at this restaurant was truly wonderful. It's a charming and authentic Roman-style eatery that serves delicious food. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and it's clear this is a beloved neighborhood spot.
They focus on simple Roman-style dishes made with high-quality ingredients and a remarkable attention to detail. The menu is small and straightforward, which means it's likely not the best choice for vegans or those with gluten-free needs, but that's not their focus. Instead, they excel at home-style Italian cooking done exceptionally well.
It's a real gem, especially in a city where Italian food can be overpriced. Lupa offers excellent value, beautiful presentation, and superb flavor.

Good Food, Strange Service Hiccup
My experience at this typical neighborhood Italian restaurant was largely positive, with good food and wine. Our server was great, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. However, there was a notable issue with the busser's table setting and basic etiquette.
Specifically, the busser reached over another diner's plate to add parmesan to mine, which was a very strange and unexpected occurrence. This incident, while unusual, did not overshadow the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Delicious Food and Super Staff!
My experience at this restaurant was excellent! The food was so tasty, and everything was very good. I enjoyed the risotto special, eating the entire plate.
The caprese was perfect and so fresh. I also loved the ravioli special, which was very, very tasty, and the pork chop was yum. Beyond the food, the service was great, and the staff was super, sweet, and friendly, always on top of things.
It's a cozy, yummy spot. Recommend 👍👌

Authentic Italian Gem in Noe
Lupe Trattoria feels like it was transported from a small Italian town right into the heart of Noe. The modest dining room has a lively bustle, and you feel a brisk tempo from the moment you sit down. The decor is simple, featuring warm brown wood and mustard walls with minimal art, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere without being dull.
The menu is equally straightforward but quite good, offering about two dozen creations across two pages. I enjoyed the tortellini alla cardinale, filled with ground beef and pork and generously coated in a pink cream sauce with chanterelles, peas, and prosciutto. It was excellent.
My companion's penne alla rugantino, drizzled with warm olive oil and topped with caramelized onions, sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and Romano cheese, was even better – a slight case of buyer's remorse! The other dishes were very good, if not superb. The prices were affordable and offered great value for the quality.
The service was also pretty good, very family-style. Highly recommended.
