My experience at this restaurant was near perfect. The service, the food, and the dining room were all excellent. I'm happy to call it my favorite restaurant and love to bring any family in town for a memorable meal.

My experience at this restaurant was exceptional. It's a must-go in San Francisco, offering great food and service. Over the last 25 years, it has become one of my favorites. They were very sensitive about dietary restrictions, and reservations are recommended. The atmosphere was rated 5, service was 5, and food was 5. Dinner here is a delightful experience.

My experience at this restaurant was extremely negative due to their reservation policy. They demanded a non-refundable $25 per person fee for a reservation, and pressured me to book it immediately while on the phone. I have never encountered such a policy before.

I can't remember her name, but our server with tight curls was exceptionally good! The food was beyond excellent. My sister, who is celiac, found the menu clearly marked with vegetarian options, and they even circled the items she could order. We had dinner, and while the noise level was loud, we could still talk. The atmosphere and service were rated 5/5, and the food was also rated 5/5. We found plenty of paid street parking available.

From the delicious olive oil and bread to a Greek take on the Negroni, and my grilled (and deboned!) sea bream, everything was exceptionally executed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warm glow of the fireplace, rustic wood beams, and the unmistakable aroma of grilled lamb and fresh herbs. The atmosphere perfectly blends sophistication with the comfort of a traditional Greek taverna. Every dish I ordered was outstanding — the lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and tender, the grilled octopus had just the right char, and the spanakopita was delicate and flaky. The service was outstanding — professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The wine list is impressive, with several great Greek and California options, and the desserts (especially the baklava and yogurt with honey) were the perfect finish. Whether for a special occasion or just a memorable night out, Kokkari never disappoints. It’s easily one of the best dining experiences in the Bay Area.

I had high hopes for this restaurant given its glowing reputation in San Francisco, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Every dish we tried was just okay—certainly nothing memorable. If you’ve ever been to Greece, you’ll know how truly vibrant and flavorful Greek cuisine can be; this place doesn’t come close to capturing that authenticity. They required a deposit to secure our reservation and never refunded it until I called to ask about it. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation (and prices to match), I expected much better. Overall, a very underwhelming experience that doesn’t live up to the hype.

I loved the cozy, rustic vibe; it felt warm and welcoming, yet still a little fancy. Every bite felt authentic and satisfying. It's definitely a spot to go all-in on sharing plates and enjoying a relaxed, delicious meal with friends.
