Disappointing French Bistro Experience
My experience at this French bistro was extremely disappointing. The baguette was stale, and the pears were served out of a can. To top it off, the mussels were overcooked.
Overall, a very unsatisfactory meal.

Delicious Brunch with Parisian Vibes!
Oh my goodness! My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food is sooo delicious!
😋 Even the aesthetics atmosphere was very similar to my experience in Paris🫶. The service was friendly and kind, with a fantastic taste of dishes! I'd love to keep this place as my go-to brunch place.

Outstanding Salads and Service at Chez Maman
My husband and I had lunch at Chez Maman. He had the Niçoise salad, which is his favorite salad and said it was the best he’s had. I had the greens and pear salad with a salmon fillet and it was outstanding.
The salmon was done perfectly and the pears had taken on the sherry flavor from the vinaigrette. The server was friendly and helpful. Will be back for sure!

While I haven't been here for dinner yet, I will add it to my list.

Excellent Food, Distracting Noise
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, especially concerning the food, which was excellent and fair priced. However, the atmosphere was significantly impacted by a person talking extremely loud on their cell phone in Mandarin. Unfortunately, the owner did not address the situation, and my attempts to intervene were unsuccessful.
People are like that everywhere.

Good Food, Slow Service
We came in via a walk-in on a Friday night and were seated immediately, which was great. Unfortunately, we waited a while for service and food, about 20 minutes for each, meaning it was 40 minutes from sit down to food in front of us. That's a long time, and somewhat frustrating.
The food itself is fine. Everything was pretty good and came out hot. It's a pretty large menu with good options for everyone.
While I enjoyed the food and location, I likely will not return due to the slow service.

Excellent Food, Casual Vibe
My experience at this restaurant was centered around the excellent food. I particularly enjoyed the duck confit, beans, and gratin potatoes. The Nicosia Salad with tuna was also a highlight.
The restaurant has a very casual vibe, though it can get noisy when full.

Delicious Soup, Hit-or-Miss Entrees
This is a quaint little restaurant located in the Civic center area. They don't take reservations, so you just walk in and hope for the best. Thankfully, it was just my husband and I, so we got seated quickly, but a group of 5 had to wait quite a bit.
The restaurant is quite tiny, so be prepared to be seated fairly close to other parties. Our server was nice and not overtly pushy, which we liked. The menu was not very extensive, but there are lots of options for appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, salads, mussels, and dessert.
We started with a red blend and their German Riesling. For an appetizer, we got the French onion soup to share. For entrees, my husband got the pork chop on a bed of mustard sauce, pear, bacon, and grilled broccoli, and I got the hachis parmentier, which was basically the French version of a shepherd's pie.
The drinks were decent and exactly what we expected, so that was nice. The French onion soup was the highlight of our meal. It was perfect - warm, the right amount of onions, the perfect amount of cheese, and absolutely delicious.
The portion is quite big, so it is probably a good idea to share this. We loved it and will come back here just for the soup. The entrees were a 50-50.
The pork chop was very good. It was perfectly cooked, not too dry, not too chewy. The mustard-based sauce added a lot of flavor to the meat.
The pear, bacon, and broccoli were a great accompaniment. My husband enjoyed his plate thoroughly. The hachis parmentier wasn't as good.
It needed an 'oomph' factor, which it did not have. The minced meat was good, but I kept hoping for more peas, onions, tomatoes, spice, just something more. The top layer was a thick layer of cheese and mashed potatoes.
The potatoes needed seasoning, and the meat didn't have enough of its own to help the potatoes. The cheese made it very filling and, after a while, quite greasy. So, all in all, this dish fell flat.
I had to ask for salt, pepper, and chili flakes to bring some flavor to the plate and did not finish it. We decided to forego dessert because we planned to go elsewhere, but the dessert menu did not look super appetizing anyway. The whole meal cost close to $100, which would have been fine based on the soup and the pork chop, but I know we overpaid because of the hachis parmentier.
I would recommend coming here, just don't order the hachis!

Great Spot for Any Occasion
I absolutely love this spot! It strikes a great mix of casual and upscale, making it perfect for any situation. I can see myself bringing friends or a date here, or even enjoying a quiet evening at the counter by myself with a book.
The steak frites were great, though I do wish it was a bit cheaper 🤣.
