Delicious Kung Pao and Friendly Service
My experience at the restaurant was very pleasant. I visited on a weekday evening around 6 PM when it wasn't too crowded. The ambiance was lovely and welcoming, and the staff were consistently friendly throughout our meal.
We started with the egg rolls, which were perfectly crisp and flavorful. The highlight of the meal was the Kung Pao chicken; it was perfectly spicy and undoubtedly the best dish. The shrimp and chicken combo fried rice and the chow mein noodles were also tasty and satisfying.
Overall, it's a nice spot for a relaxed and delicious meal.

Delicious Food, Slow Service
My experience at the restaurant was a mix of great food and slow service. While the service was a bit slow, the food was delicious and authentic, according to my friends. I particularly enjoyed the beer duck, chicken soup, and fish.

Mediocre Food, Good Service
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing, especially considering the food quality. I expected dishes to cost around $9. 99, but the food itself was mediocre, rating between 3/10 and 6/10.
The service, however, was good. I'm shocked this place received such positive reviews. The food quality was not up to par with my expectations for the price.

Authentic Hunan Spicy Food
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially if you enjoy spicy food. If you can't handle spice, this is definitely not the place for you. The taste is very close to authentic Hunan local cuisine.
Among all the places I've tried across North America, this ranks in my top 3 for Hunan-style spicy food. I highly recommend it. The service was good, and the food was exceptionally good, especially after a long flight.
I highly recommend the noodle dish shown in the picture.

Generous Portions, Tasty Food, Affordable Prices
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. I ordered Steamed rice, Kung Pao chicken, Curry chicken, Vegetable chow mein, and Vegetable fried rice. The portions were generous, the food was tasty, and the prices were affordable.
I highly recommend this place, especially for vegetarians as they have a dedicated menu or section.

Favorite Hunanese Food Spot
Our favorite place for Hunanese food (湘菜) in SF. It would be great if they could open on weekends.

Best Chinese Restaurant Ever!
My experience at this restaurant has been exceptional! I've been a loyal customer for 5 years and the food is consistently perfectly cooked with that desirable smoky, charred aroma from high-heat stir-frying, known as wok hei. Even simple dishes are elevated by this technique.
My favorite dishes include the Pickled Chili w. Chicken Gizzard, Fried Intestine w. Spicy Sauce, Sauteed Bullfrog w.
Pickled Pepper, Diana's Special-Meat Pie, and Chow Mein – which I discovered can be an amazing dish here! If you enjoy spicy food, this is a must-try. For those who don't eat spicy often, I recommend asking for 'Mild 🔥', but you won't regret trying Henry's Hunan family-owned restaurant; it truly feels like home.

Unpleasant Billing Experience at Henry's Hunan
My experience at Henry's Hunan on July 29th was marred by a very unpleasant checkout. Initially, they provided me with another customer's bill. After this was corrected, I was presented with a bill for $60.
83. However, upon swiping my card, my bank account was charged $70. 91.
This extra $10. 08 was charged without my knowledge and did not match the amount I was told to pay. I found this billing practice to be very dishonest and am extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency.
While I believe a tipping system is fair when agreed upon, it's unacceptable to add charges without the customer's awareness. This approach is unlikely to foster returning customers. I have already initiated a refund request for the overcharged amount.
To fellow diners: please *double-check your bill* carefully when paying by card at this establishment.

Disappointing Service and Pricey Food
My experience at this restaurant was a bit of a mixed bag, leaning towards negative. The food quality was inconsistent, described as "hit or miss. " Adding to the disappointment, the meal was also perceived as pricey.
A significant issue arose when we received the wrong dish. Despite informing the staff that it was okay and we didn't need a replacement, they brought one anyway and then charged us for both. When we inquired about removing one from the bill, the best offer was a mere $4 discount on dishes that cost over $20.
Consequently, I cannot recommend this establishment's service. Even if the food had been satisfactory, I left feeling stressed and scammed.
