My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The ambiance was truly incredible, creating a wonderful atmosphere. However, the food we had was subpar. While the appetizers were good, the main dishes were a big letdown, lacking flavor.

My experience at this restaurant was outstanding. The ceviche was absolutely to die for, a truly memorable dish. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is a great guy and added to the lovely atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in San Francisco.

My recent dinner at Camino Alto was the most disappointing experience I've had there. Our server was consistently absent throughout the night, leading to significant delays. We were the last to be served because it took them so long to take our order. I had to personally go and ask for our wine, which took over ten minutes to arrive after ordering. While some aspects of the food showed promise, the overall meal was underwhelming. The salad lacked proper dressing, and the steak was chewy, not tasting like a quality cut. The chicken was delicious, but it wasn't enough to salvage the rest of the meal. Considering the quality, the experience felt overpriced.

The restaurant offers a very clean, seed oil free & seasonal rotating menu, which is great for dietary restrictions. The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the food also received a 5-star rating. The noise level was quiet, making it easy to talk.

My experience at this restaurant was absolutely phenomenal. I had the joy of photographing a sweet, intimate wedding reception here, and the experience was unparalleled. It’s evident that Chef Josh and the restaurant staff genuinely care about their employees and their craft. The entire waitstaff was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. My couple had the entire back patio to themselves, which was both beautiful and cozy. Many vendors know how challenging events can be at smaller restaurants, but the Camino Alto team went above and beyond, saving me a private seat at the bar and preparing a fresh plate during my break. The meal was one of my favorites I’ve ever had while working an event! They truly exceeded expectations for both the vendors and the couple. The atmosphere is effortlessly elevated, from the handwritten custom menus to the specialty drinks tailored to the couple, and the stellar service made it a night I’ll never forget. I am eagerly looking forward to returning as a guest myself. I highly recommend the patio buyout for private events and intimate wedding receptions!
