Small portions, but satisfying with staff issues
My experience at this restaurant involved receiving very little food, which was surprising as I actually got full. The people environment was mixed; while the staff were present, some got frustrated and huffed at children when they couldn't navigate the space quickly. The atmosphere was generally good, rated a 4, but the noise level was very loud, making it hard to hear.
The food itself was rated a 4, indicating a decent meal.

Declining Quality and Poor Management
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The prices are going up, while the quality and portions are going down. Finding seating became a challenge as they started closing off sections of the dining area.
When we did find a spot, it was dirty. The restaurant seems poorly ran, and it definitely shows.

Simple Syrup Scam and Poor Service
My experience at this restaurant was quite frustrating. I've been consistently charged an extra dollar for simple syrup in my tea, but the lady never actually gives it to me. Today, I decided to speak up and asked if it had simple syrup.
The response was, "That's a dollar more, but today I'll give it to you. " I found this ridiculous, especially since I had asked for simple syrup five times previously and was charged for it. It felt like a dishonest practice.

Disappointing Food and Hours at Cafe
My experience at the Cafe was marked by unbelievably little care and a tiny number of food options. The space is very nice and large, but it feels like only 10% of it is utilized, which is a significant waste of space and talent. Even during prime dinner hours, there was only one overworked grill and four mediocre small trays of food.
The hours are also very restrictive, serving breakfast Monday through Friday, which is described as special and plentiful, but then closing from 10: 30 to 11 am and again early at 8 pm on weekdays. Weekend hours are even shorter, and the cafe becomes a ghost town with barely any food. This is in stark contrast to another hospital in Tampa that offers a minimum of four fully stocked, diverse food stations until 12: 30 am nightly with daily menu changes.
The Moffitt Cafe serves the same limited offerings for seven days straight. Requests for simple things, like a side container of sauce, are denied, and ordering a hamburger close to closing time is met with a reminder that they are closing in five minutes and you need to come earlier. This is a huge disservice to the hardest working, kindest staff we have ever experienced.
I urge a revamp with the necessary financial and human resources to create a real, full-service food establishment.

Unprofessional Service Despite Being Open
I arrived at the cafeteria at 6: 40 pm after a long day at the hospital, hoping to get some food as they were advertised to be open until 7 pm. Unfortunately, the 'Burger guy' stated he was no longer making food. When I inquired with another employee about other food options, I was met with a curt 'no, we close at 7.
' My frustration grew when I expressed that it was still 20 minutes until closing, and the employee snapped back at me. This was a very unprofessional interaction that unfortunately worsened my already difficult day. My advice is to get to the cafeteria well before 7 pm if you hope to get any food.

Unprofessional staff, poor atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The people who work here are loud and unprofessional. I expected a place where people could find peace, especially given the context of a hospital, but instead, it made the situation worse.
The service and atmosphere were rated very low, as was the food.

Nutritious, Tasty Food & Unique Drinks
My experience at the restaurant was quite positive. The food was both nutritious and tasty. I was particularly impressed with the coffee, which was the best iced I've had here.
The water options were a delightful surprise, offering Perrier or coconut water, which felt quite fancy. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Rude Staff, Disappointing Experience
We arrived a few minutes before closing, unaware they close at 7 PM. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by extremely rude staff. When I tried to get a Coke, the cashier took it from my hands and told me I could buy it elsewhere.
My mom was trying to get a slice of pizza, and the staff member repeatedly told her to hurry because they were closing. As she took one slice, he began discarding the other four. We had been waiting all day for my dad to get out of surgery and just wanted a quick meal, making this experience super disappointing.
The cashier, Marie, was particularly rude, ignoring my mom's questions, snatching her money, and throwing her receipt in the trash. I'm shocked by the lack of basic courtesy, especially since we weren't being rude or demanding. We were just trying to grab a snack and go, arriving around 6: 55 PM.
If you're closed, lock your doors.
