Fresh Food, Great Flavors, Worth the Wait
My experience at this restaurant on a weekday night was quite positive. Despite it being pretty busy, we were seated within about 20 minutes. All the dishes we tried were super fresh. They even mix the salad for you at the table, which was a nice touch. My favorites were the sticky pork and the beef mango. The sesame chicken was also good, though it tasted more like orange chicken, it was still bomb. I will definitely need to come back to try other dishes!

Delicious Food, Worth the Wait
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's one of my top casual spots in San Francisco. The food flavors were bold and incredibly delicious, making the wait absolutely worth it. The atmosphere was a perfect 5, and the food itself was rated a 5. While service wasn't explicitly rated, the overall experience was highly positive.

Excellent Burmese Food on Clement
My experience at this restaurant was excellent. It's one of the best options on Clement. The lamb curry and coconut rice were absolutely to die for. The restaurant also offers nice outdoor seating and is usually busy.

Excellent Food and Service
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. I enjoyed lunch and had the recommended tea salad, beef curry, and Nan Gyi Dok, all of which were very good. The service was excellent. Our dog also appreciated the outdoor seating.

Tasty Food, Terrible Service
I loved the food, but the service was just okay. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, and it felt like every waiter kicked my chair as they walked by. It almost seemed like they were competing to see who could kick my chair the most and hardest. However, the food was quite tasty and different. I've never had Burmese food before, so I can't speak to its authenticity or if it's particularly good Burmese food, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. We had an eggplant dish, a beef curry, a shrimp dish, and some coconut rice. Every dish was very enjoyable, but their tea leaves salad was my favorite. I've never had anything that tasted quite like that; the first bite was a bit confusing, but by the end, I was obsessed. I will be looking for more Burmese food in the future.

Cozy Burmese Gem with Flavorful Food
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful! The space is cozy and stylish, creating an intimate atmosphere that's always buzzing. The dim lighting and warm colors, complemented by Burmese art, add cultural richness without being kitschy. It's so popular that it's often packed, even on weeknights, which is a true sign of its cult following. If you're arriving late, you might find it easier to get seated quicker. The food is the absolute star here – it's fresh, fragrant, and bursting with layers of flavor. The restaurant beautifully executes Burmese cuisine, which blends Indian, Chinese, and Thai influences.

Stupendous Service, Great Food!
My experience at this restaurant was overwhelmingly positive, primarily due to the stupendous service. Our server was incredibly attentive, even double-checking with the kitchen about allergens to ensure our safety, which prevented us from having an issue with a dish. The food was great overall; everything was well-cooked and the attention to allergens was spot on. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp curry, which had the right mix of heat and was well-seasoned. The crispy chicken was also a hit, made with all white meat and a mild heat level. While the tofu vegetable kebat was a favorite among some, the eggplant & tofu curry and the tea leaf salad were not as well-received, with the latter being too bitter for my taste, despite its nice mix of ingredients and textural contrast. The outdoor seating was comfortable and offered convenient access to free hot tea, making it preferable to the interior. A minor point is that most dishes, except for the biryani, do not come with rice, requiring a separate order. Portion sizes were generally good, suitable for 1. 5 people for lunch or 1 person for dinner.

Flavorful Burmese Gem with a Wait
If you're on Clement Street in San Francisco and your stomach is craving bold, spiced flavors, Burma Superstar is definitely one of those neighborhood treasures worth battling the crowds for. From the moment you step in, the aroma of garlic, toasted nuts, and chilies sets the tone — you know you’re in for something special. One of the standout features here is how friendly it is to vegetarians and vegans. The menu includes a dedicated vegetable & tofu section, with dishes like red curry with tofu and eggplant (available mild or extra spicy). You’ll also find Superstar Vegetarian Noodles — traditional Burmese noodles tossed with tofu, cabbage, potato, cucumber, and chili sauce — a refreshing, room-temperature dish. The Rainbow Salad, served vegan or traditional, is a colorful medley of 22 ingredients. And of course the iconic Tea Leaf Salad (often mixed tableside) is a must-order, and is often offered in vegan form as well. If you love crispy, savory snacks, their chips (especially the garlic chips or golden crispy garlic chips) are excellent — they deliver that addictive crunch and deep garlic flavor that you’ll keep snacking on between plates. On the flip side, this place is notoriously busy. They don’t accept reservations, so you’ll likely face long waits — sometimes 30 to 60 minutes (or more) during peak dinner hours. Also worth noting: parking is very limited in this neighborhood. You’ll probably have to circle the blocks or hope for a rare street spot. All told, Burma Superstar offers an electric, flavorful Burmese dining experience with solid vegetarian options and standout crunchy chips — but patience and some luck with parking are required.

Charming, Busy Spot for a Date
My experience at this restaurant was quite positive. It's a charming place, though it can be a bit noisy, but in a way that adds to the atmosphere. It's a great place for a date meal. They offer both outdoor and indoor dining, and the staff is very attentive. The food options are many, and I'm already looking forward to returning to try more items. Yum!

Delicious Food and Accommodating Service
I finally got to come back after being out of state for 6 years. It’s every bit as delicious as I remember. I always get the tea leaf salad, coconut rice and pumpkin pork stew. The staff at this location was also so accommodating since I was in a bit of a hurry to catch a flight. So glad I got to come by!
