Burnt Pizza and Unreachable Restaurant
I was really disappointed with my order. The pizza was completely burnt on the bottom and was inedible. I tried calling the restaurant to let them know, but the phone number listed appears to be out of service. This was a very frustrating experience. I hope they improve both their food quality and customer service.

Warm Staff and Delicious Samosas!
We had an event here and all the staff were so warm and inviting! Our favorites were the samosas and veggie eggrolls.

Best Chopped Salad in Years!
As a long-time fan of chopped salads since 1998, I can confidently say that The Local Kitchen's "Local Chopped" is the best I've had in years. It perfectly captures all the flavors without any heavy or oily taste. I highly recommend adding a glass of the Cora Pinot Grigio to your order!

Tough Meat, Good Sides, Unexpected Fizz
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The meat dish was tough and generally unremarkable, though the green beans and green salad were good. I was surprised that the limeade was carbonated, and this was not communicated beforehand. Additionally, there were no salt shakers available.

Closed Without Notice - Wasted Trip
My experience was extremely frustrating. I arrived at the restaurant only to find it was closed for a week without any prior notice. I discovered this upon arrival, which was a complete waste of my time. I wish they would update their hours on Google Maps to avoid inconveniencing customers.

Unreliable Hours, Frustrating Experience
My experience was frustrating because the restaurant was closed when I went tonight. It would be helpful if they would post their hours. They have been unreliable the past couple times I've been there. So, I guess you have to call.

Reservation Honored, But Restaurant Closed
Our experience was quite disappointing. We had a reservation for a specific date and time, but upon arrival, we discovered the restaurant was closed. This meant our planned visit was completely unsuccessful.

Good Service, Salty Food
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The atmosphere and service were excellent, both receiving a 5-star rating. However, the food was not very enjoyable. While I understand Italian cuisine can be salty, the dishes here were excessively so, even compared to other Italian meals I've had. The food received a 4-star rating.

Sleek Spot with Surprising Flavors
The pragmatic and simple name of this SOMA restaurant, Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant, belies the rich grandeur of its offerings. Its sleek, minimal design, featuring brushed metal, smooth marble, and flat lighting, might initially fool you into dismissing it. However, upon closer inspection, you'll notice distinctive touches like the black and white photographs that pepper the minimal backdrop. Similarly, the Californian cuisine menu reveals itself to have some distinctive twists. While the menu changes regularly, during my December visit, I enjoyed the Mac n Cheese, made with unique blends of exotic cheeses. My dinner companion had an equally savory and delicious pasta dish, though I can't recall the specifics beyond it being "delicious. " Although we didn't try the wood-fired pizzas, if they smelled as good as they looked, I suspect they would be impressive. The wine selection was impressively varied, spanning regions like California, France, Spain, India, and Japan. Service was fine – not great, but not poor. All in all, it's well worth checking out.

Reservation ignored for private event
I made a reservation, but when we showed up, the whole restaurant was closed for a private event. This indicates a significant issue with their logistics.
