Authentic Afghan Gem with Humble Owner
What a neat find on Authentic Afghan food in SF! The Chaplee Kabob and Dolani were absolutely perfect, scoring a 100/100. The owner is incredibly humble, making you feel like the only customer even when the place is filled up.

Terrible Delivery Experience
My experience was one of extreme rudeness and disrespect. I ordered food via Doordash, and it took an hour and a half for the food to not arrive, even though it was only a mile away. The most dismissive response came when I called the store directly, and they told me to 'call Doordash. ' This experience made me waste an hour and a half, and I will never order from this restaurant again.

Unacceptable Service: 1.5 Hour Wait, No Food
My experience was incredibly frustrating. After ordering and waiting for 1. 5 hours, I was informed that my food could not be prepared. To make matters worse, I had to call myself to find this out. This is irresponsible business practice.

Great Afghani Food Experience
My friend Sashi Singh from Stillwater Canyon visited the city and invited me to dinner at this Afghani restaurant. I hadn't had camel hump in years, so I readily agreed. We met at De Afghanan Kabob House and had a great dinner. Sashi ordered for us, so I'm unsure of the exact dishes, but I know it wasn't organ meat and it tasted pretty good. We had a great dinner with excellent food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Authentic and Fresh Kabobs!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! The food was authentic, and I particularly enjoyed the chicken kabob, which was incredibly moist and cooked fresh. The Bolani was also very good. The reviewer rated both Service and Food with a perfect 5 out of 5.

Cash-only policy a dealbreaker
I tried to get dinner on a Monday evening at 6: 30 pm. The cook/cashier person wanted payment in cash only. The only alternative was to order via DoorDash and deal with the extra fees. Unfortunately, I did not have cash. Too bad - I was looking forward to trying this restaurant.

Friendly Service, Delicious Kabobs
My experience at the restaurant was very positive. The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was very tasty, served in generous portions. While it wasn't the fastest, the kabobs were made fresh to order, ensuring they were hot and juicy. The rice was also very aromatic. My husband particularly enjoyed the spicy green sauce, which he suspected was zhoug.

Delicious Food & Awesome Service!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was SO delicious. I particularly enjoyed the beef and chicken Kabob skewers, which were incredibly well-seasoned, succulent, and juicy. The fact that they are charcoal grilled added a wonderful smokey scent that was truly "Chef's kiss! ". The rice was also a highlight – every grain was soft, fluffy, and buttery. Yum! The salad provided a refreshing balance to the meal. For dessert, their baklava was the best I've ever had. My husband and I visited last week and loved the food so much that we returned twice. I even went back today on my own because the food is consistently delicious. The service was also awesome! Jayhoon and Wida, the brother and sister who run the place, are such pleasant, delightful people. I'm baffled by any reviews suggesting otherwise; their service is truly great.

Amazing Afghan Food Experience!
My experience at this Afghan restaurant in San Francisco was absolutely amazing. I've tried many Afghan places in the city, but this one truly stood out. The Tekka and chicken kebob were incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor; I couldn't stop talking about them. The vegetable dish (Palag) was just as delicious as I remember from home. Even though I'm quite particular about baklava, their version was the best I've ever had in the US – so fresh, moist, and perfectly sweet. I'm still dreaming about it! The atmosphere was cozy, and Jayhoon Jan made us feel incredibly welcome, like we were at home. If you're looking for Afghan food that will impress you, you must visit this place!

Authentic Afghan Gem in SF
My family and I visited De Afghanan Kabob House in San Francisco and discovered a hidden gem offering rich, flavorful Afghan cuisine in a cozy setting. We were thoroughly impressed by the tender kabobs, freshly baked bread, and aromatic rice. The portions were generous, and the food truly felt homemade. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during a busy evening. A tip for future visitors: the place is small with limited seating, so consider arriving early or getting takeout. If you’re looking for authentic Afghan flavors in the city, this spot is definitely worth trying!
