This is one of the few good pho places in the city, and I was surprised it took me so long to visit. The classics are done right.

My experience at this restaurant was marked by terrible service and a complete lack of hospitality. The waiter was cold and seemed solely focused on collecting the bill. He handed me the menu and pointed to the table, and then, astonishingly, placed the bill on the table in the middle of the meal. I will definitely not be returning. While I understand a waiter might have a bad day, the way this was handled with customers was unacceptable.

My experience at this pho joint was everything I could have wanted. The broth was crazy good, and the portions were generous. It wasn't too expensive, and the service was fast. The atmosphere had a very relaxed neighborhood vibe.

Both the shrimp appetizers (crispy shrimp cakes) and spring rolls were crisp and freshly fried, with a golden exterior that gave way to juicy fillings, accompanied by a nice sweet and sour sauce. They were addictive starters, great for sharing and setting the tone for the meal. Service was prompt and efficient; our order came out ridiculously fast, with friendly staff smiling and handling the busy room like pros, making us feel welcome despite the quick pace. No reservations, so go during off-hours to snag a table without wait. Parking on Irving Street is street-only and competitive, so consider public transit. Prices are reasonable, but portions are hearty. Pair your pho with a lychee shake for a sweet finish!
