Disappointing Experience at a Premium Price
My experience at this restaurant was, at best, average. The NY strip I ordered was supposed to be medium rare, but it was anything but. The shrimp scampi tasted as if it had been pre-frozen, and the San Francisco sour was served in a minuscule sample size.
Considering the premium price, the overall value was definitely not worth it.

Wonderful Party Experience at Cultivar
I hosted a party for about 50 guests at Cultivar, and my experience was fantastic. The team, especially Sarah, was incredibly responsive and accommodating of our requests throughout the planning process. The drinks and food were great, and the patio atmosphere was very cozy.
We and our guests had a lovely time.

Disappointing Pork Chop and Long Wait
My experience involved ordering the pork chop and NY Strip, along with bread service. The server was exceptional. However, the pork chop lacked seasoning, and our entrees took nearly 40 minutes to arrive.
This delay might have been due to Fleet Week, but even the bread service took over 25 minutes. Ultimately, the quality and the wait time made it not worth the price.

Mediocre Food, Understaffed Experience
My experience at this restaurant was largely disappointing. The food was mediocre, with poor quality and preparation, though thankfully I didn't get food poisoning. The service was extremely lacking due to being severely understaffed.
I definitely do not recommend coming here unless you're in a pinch.

Excellent Happy Hour Finds!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially during happy hour! I tried the Ahi tacos, which were excellent, and the grilled cheese was decadent. The fries were also fresh and flavorful.
I highly recommend not skipping this place!

A New Favorite in San Francisco!
This restaurant is a true hidden gem. I found the food to be delicious and the price to be well-priced. The establishment was well-stocked, and the service was impeccable.
It has become a new favorite whenever I'm visiting San Francisco.

Underwhelming Truffle Caesar Salad
My experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing, particularly regarding the food. I ordered their truffle caesar salad, which was very underwhelming. It lacked flavor and was very bland.
This was pretty disappointing, especially considering the price point.

Gem with a Gristle Letdown
I am struggling to post this review because while there was so much good about Cultivar, one bad thing unfortunately ruined the evening for us. This is a local gem in the area, with a nice interior, seating out front, and an excellent back patio that you will love. The service was just great from beginning to end; our server was there when we needed him and super friendly throughout.
For dinner, we started with the Bacon & Blue salad, which they generously split and served for us – an excellent combination for a summer afternoon. For our main courses, we shared the "Tender Roasted Beets, " which were great with lovely grill flavors. Our downfall was with the steaks, both requested medium rare.
The flavoring of salt, red peppercorns, gremolata, and balsamic reduction was perfect and very flavorful. However, the cut of meat for both steaks was terrible – fatty and full of gristle, so much so that we were unable to eat about 30% from each. It was a significant letdown.
Our server was quick to acknowledge our situation and apologized profusely. Without our asking, he went to the GM, who also came over to apologize and address the issue. I applaud her for stepping up and taking responsibility for the overall food/service experience.
We will definitely be back to Cultivar and I do hope to up my overall rating as there is so much good going on here.

Great Outdoor Brunch Spot
My experience at this restaurant was a great outdoor brunch option. The secluded back patio was a sun trap, making for a lovely atmosphere. The food was solid, with the chilaquilies being a particular highlight.
They also offered good cocktail options.

Mixed Experience: Bland Food, Slow Service
I visited for Happy Hour on a Monday and unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. We had to wait about 5-6 minutes at the door to be acknowledged, even though the inside was nearly empty. The bartender was engaged in a conversation, and there was no other staff present, leaving us to awkwardly stand and look at menus.
A "please wait to be seated" sign was posted, but there was no acknowledgment from the bartender, which felt like an unfriendly welcome. We eventually had to search for someone to order from and ended up going to the bar. We even grabbed a bottle of water ourselves as we couldn't get anyone's attention.
The menu matched what was available online. We tried the Cabernet Sauv and Sauvignon Blanc, which were decent pours for happy hour but nothing too special. For food, we ordered the grilled cheese and the BBQ Chicken Slider.
The grilled cheese was a very large portion but quite bland; it's great if you're looking for quantity. The slider was flavorful, but for $7, I expected more than a single slider of that size, though they weren't intentionally misleading. Overall, I might return on a livelier evening, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
