My experience at Hermitage was wonderful. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and clearly care about their guests. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it.

My experience at this restaurant was characterized by primitive cuisine and primitive service. The overall atmosphere felt eclectic and obsolete, which did not fit the spirit of San Francisco. The service was also described as unprofessional.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review about our post-funeral gathering at Hermitage Banquet Hall. During such a difficult time of loss, I had hoped for understanding and compassion, but unfortunately, we did not receive that. The dinner itself was fine, but not everyone got a chance to try all the dishes. One side of the table had noticeably more food than the other, but I chose to let it go to keep the peace. Before the event, my mom and I provided the exact number of attendees. Later, my mom was asked to go upstairs to settle the bill, and at that point, she was told there were more guests than we had originally confirmed. By then, many people had already left, so we couldn’t prove otherwise. Given the circumstances, we had no choice but to pay for two additional guests. When we received the final bill, my mom recalculated it and found that the total was much higher than what had been originally agreed upon. Only after my mom’s recalculation did the owner quickly adjust the amount, but in the end, the final total still exceeded what was originally agreed on. I write this review to ensure others don’t encounter the same injustice. Initially, the owner seemed kind and understanding, but when it came down to the bill, it became clear that their priority was profit over honesty. No one should have to feel taken advantage of during such a vulnerable time.

Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, wedding celebration, or memorial, every occasion at Hermitage has been a memorable & wonderful experience. I recommend it for any special event or even a company outing. The venue is tastefully lavish and welcoming. The food ranges from traditional Russian cuisine to a variety of fine dining entrees and hors d’oeuvres. The owners are flexible to create a custom menu to fit your party's needs. The location is in a safe neighborhood with decent parking!

My experience at this venue for a NYE Party with about 100 people was like being transported to Russia! The staff was very friendly and the service was good. A Russian duo performed throughout the party and they were very good. I can't really comment on the main food since I'm not Russian and also a vegetarian, and most of the foods were Russian delicacies and all meat. However, the desserts and blintzes were amazing! There was sooooo much food, and guests were able to take home leftovers. The wine was mediocre, but overall, it was an unforgettable experience!

My experience was one of extreme disappointment. We ordered a memorial dinner, and the restaurant's service during this sensitive time was not as discussed. We initially agreed on a table for 25 people with dishes for 20. However, the table was set for 25, but the cold appetizers were insufficient for 20. The liver pate was not fresh, and instead of pelmeni, we received inedible, unfresh potato dumplings. To add to the frustration, the $200 deposit was not deducted from the final bill. This was a very poor service during a difficult family time.

My experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was great, but the music was unbearably loud. Additionally, the service was a bit too fast, as they took the food away too quickly.

My experience at this restaurant was nice. It's a small venue, which is good for small private events or group gatherings. The space for the DJ booth was tight while I was DJing, but it worked out.

My experience at Hermitage was disappointing. The food was just 'Ok'. I was particularly let down by the owner's unreliability; she did not keep her word regarding promises and made last-minute changes, which left us with no other options for our party. The music was pretty bad, and it seemed to be played only for tips. Given the limited options for Russian parties in San Francisco, this was a significant letdown. I will NEVER go back to Hermitage to celebrate anything.

My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially for a Russian party. The food was top-notch, the space was beautiful, the music was great, and the service was stellar. We hosted a birthday party here, and everyone loved it.
