Delicious Korean Food on a Chilly Night
I visited on a Friday night and found the restaurant to be not too busy. The atmosphere was clean with a casual vibe. We ordered the seafood and scallion pancake and the Tofu Stew with beef.
The banchan options were good, offering a decent variety for a casual establishment, though not as extensive as more upscale Korean restaurants. The food was delicious and perfectly satisfied my craving for Korean cuisine, especially on such a windy and chilly day.

Disappointing Opening Hours Confusion
I visited at 4: 15 PM on a Tuesday and found the place to be empty and dark. After walking in and calling out, a lady eventually emerged from the kitchen to inform me that they open at 5 PM. This contradicted both the information on Google Maps and a sign displayed in their window.

Craving satisfied, will return!
My experience at this restaurant was excellent. The kalbi was spot on, and the stew perfectly satisfied a pregnancy craving. I will certainly visit again to try other items once the baby arrives.
The service was a perfect 5, and the food was a perfect 5. The atmosphere was rated a 4, and the wait time was no wait at all. The meal was lunch, and the noise level was very quiet.

Excellent Korean Food - Highly Recommended!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I've ordered from here a few times, and it's honestly one of the best Korean spots in town. I even took my Korean in-laws here, and they approved the quality and care put into the food.
I highly recommend this place!

Reliable Korean Gem in SF
I’ve been to Sonamu several times now, and it’s consistently a great experience. The vibe is casual, the space is clean, and service is efficient with food coming out quickly. There is a bit of an echo, so conversations carry, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
The banchan spread is generous with seven tasty sides, and they’ll happily refill them on request. I love the courtesy tea—it’s hot and flavorful. The seafood bibimbap and tteokbokki are standouts: big portions, well-seasoned, and really satisfying.
The bibimbap even stayed hot until the end of the meal, which was impressive. At about $40 for both dishes, it’s also a solid value for Korean food in SF. Definitely a reliable spot when you’re craving a hearty, flavorful meal.

Delicious Korean Food - New Favorite Spot!
This is my new favorite Korean spot in the city! My experience was fantastic, especially with the food. Both the Soondubu and army stew were incredibly delicious.
The bonchon were also very tasty and fresh. The service and atmosphere were also top-notch, both receiving a perfect score.

Authentic Korean Gem with Exceptional Service
My experience at Sonamu was absolutely wonderful! If you're searching for authentic Korean flavors, Sonamu is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that set the tone for an amazing meal.
We started with the tteok bokki, and it was everything I hoped for—perfectly chewy rice cakes in a rich, spicy sauce that had just the right kick. The sundubu beef tofu soup was another standout, served bubbling hot and packed with tender beef, silky tofu, and deep, savory flavor in every spoonful. The banchan here deserves its own shout-out.
Each little dish was fresh and delicious—my personal favorites were the broccoli, kimchi, sweet soy-glazed potatoes, and crisp cucumber slices. You can really taste the care that goes into preparing every bite. A special thank you to April, our waitress, who provided exceptional service throughout our meal.
She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience to the fullest. Sonamu is now one of my top go-to spots for Korean comfort food. Can’t wait to come back!

A Delicious Surprise Gem!
Thank goodness we got lost and missed our first restaurant pick, because we FOUND THIS GEM! The service was good, and the food was delicious! We ended up buying the sought-after Jinro sojus and they even gave us free shot glasses!
I particularly enjoyed their kimchi rice with beef, and their homemade kimchi is one of the BEST kimchis out there! The overall experience felt like coming home to a feast of delicious home-cooked meals!
