Excellent Hotpot Experience
I'm not sure why this place receives poor reviews, but my experience was fantastic. I enjoyed a very nice hotpot with nice cuts of meat. The waiter was very nice as well, contributing to a great overall experience.

Terrible Experience After New Ownership
As an old customer of several years, my recent experience at this hotpot restaurant was terrible. The food taste has changed, and even the soup taste is different. The service was also terrible, with staff almost making mistakes for all tables and even giving us another table's soup.
My fried rice never arrived, despite reminding the waitress twice. It seems the old boss has sold the restaurant to a new owner, and I will never come here again.

Authentic Chongqing Hot Pot with Artful Ambiance
My experience at this hot pot restaurant was fantastic! The ingredients were very fresh, and the Chongqing hot pot base tasted very authentic. I was also impressed by the atmosphere, which was enhanced by the many artworks in the store.
The owner, who is an artist, has created a unique and engaging environment. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect 5/5 rating.

Disappointing Hotpot Experience
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. The hotpot was not tasty and also expensive. To make matters worse, the waiter was super rude.
It's worth noting that M Pot is the original real one.

Excellent Chinese Hotpot Experience
My husband and I had a really enjoyable dinner here. I'm not sure why the rating is only 3. 9, as we found it to be a very good place for traditional Chinese hotpot.
The service was good as well. We will definitely come back again.

Disappointing Experience, Paid Promotions?
I came here after seeing great reviews on social media, but it turns out those were just paid promotions. The reality is very different. There was only one overworked server for the entire place, leading to slow service.
The food was neither good nor reasonably priced. To make matters worse, a few of my friends got diarrhea after the meal. Very disappointing experience.

Tourist Trap with Overpriced Small Portions
My experience at this restaurant felt like a tourist trap. The portions were incredibly small for the price, with a small serving of enoki mushrooms costing $8, about 8 leaves of cabbage for $6, and a few tiny slices of pumpkin for $6. This felt like crazy shrinkflation.
While the food was decent, I can easily find better value and just as good, if not better, hot pot elsewhere. I will not be returning and urge others not to be treated like fools!

Awful Service and Confusing Food
This hotpot restaurant truly redefined awful service for me. We were curious why every slice of “beef tongue” had a thick 2 cm black edge. The server went to check with the kitchen and came back saying, “The chef says that’s just what lamb shoulder looks like.
” So… was it beef tongue or lamb shoulder? At checkout, the owner stared intensely at the tablet as I was entering the tip, which was extremely uncomfortable. The staff also randomly came over to pry into my personal life, asking if I was a student—no idea why.
And as for the bamboo fungus, they never trim off the frilly skirts; they just dump it on the plate as is. Order it and count how many pieces you get—then you’ll see how careless they are. Definitely never coming back.
The shrimp paste was also disappointing with only 5 balls for over ten dollars, and the duck intestine and tripe were sparse. San Francisco, eat better than this.
